Does anyone know the price ranges for the Kusama speedys? Or how much more these artist collaborations are compared to a regular speedy? I usually don’t pay too much attention to these releases because I never had the money. But the red with white polka dots is calling my name. Just curious if I have a chance or if I’m priced out.
I think the premium price for the kusama pieces are much much higher than any other collaboration before. Especially for the non leather pieces
Wave 2 should launch end of March. That’s what they told official press.
I have some more images of the second drop but can’t post them public. It’s basically:
- a lot of bags with those pumpkin designs
- a lot of bags in the light blueish color with white dots
- a lot of bags in black with pinkish dots
- a lot of bags in white with reddish dots
- a lot of bags with that screaming face / potato face
- a lot of bags with the flowers on it
- those 2 pumpkin bags, but they are so expensive and limited that probably only a few will get / buy them
- and there are some new capucines which look (in my opinion) super gorgeous. They look like cloudy dot work Art (very small dots, which look like some kind of clouds) in pink or blueish ink. Super nice but not everyone’s taste I guess

Curious if you think the Kusama collection is too big. While I appreciate that there are a bunch of designs to appeal to many different people, the size of the collection feels more like a money grab than an “artist collaboration.” If you‘ve never seen her work in person, it’s hard to imagine how one could appreciate her work, if you only have this LV collection to consider. It’s too consumer/utilitarian-focused, too much on ”easy monetization” and not enough “how do you translate the experience of seeing a Kusama piece into LV?”Wave 2 should launch end of March. The entire Painted Dots series, if you ask me, has nothing to do her work. It just lacks the same energy. LV would be better off if they put those material resources towards some Kusama home decor. How about an LV x YK pumpkin paperweight, or a Kusama/Vivienne shadow box-scape for walls (in line with some of her pandemic work). She’s most known for her sculptures, and her treatment of them, so why didn’t they make interesting 3D objects, instead of taking images of what she’s known for, and slapping it on canvas and leather?
But safer for my wallet, I guess
Does anyone know if the Side Trunk in reverse monogram will be available for purchase or if it's for LV ambassadors only. I love to have it but I don't want to wait too long and then it never go on production and risk missing out on the regular mono side trunk as well. I'm hesitant to buy the monogram now unless I'm sure LV is not releasing the reverse.
