I'll soon be going back to the office once a week, and will have to commute with my laptop. So, I'm looking for suggestions for a minimalist, luxe bag that can fit AND handle the weight of a laptop, at least once a week? I liked the idea of a Goyard for this purpose, but I did my research on here and it definitely sounds like they can't handle the weight of a laptop. In general, I prefer minimalist brands without logos, e.g., Celine, The Row, Loewe, Valextra etc. I really don't want to carry a Longchamp, nylon Prada, or Tumi bag (I searched before posting, and know that these are always mentioned as laptop bags). If you've been commuting with a laptop in a luxe, minimalist bag for a while, I'd particularly love to hear from you!

Thank you!

The Row has some very luxe bags that would easily carry a laptop. The sidekick, sideby, duplex tote, sporty bowler and Margaux just to name a few. I have or have had suede, calf & ostrich leathers all have been lightweight but robust. Be mindful of The Row bag sizes sometimes they offer two or three sizes. Good luck with the hunt!

After trialling a few bags a year or so ago I bought a medium size Givenchy Soft Antigona specifically as a laptop/work bag and it's excellent. At that time I also tried a Balenciaga Neo Classic but it was too structured, too bulky and had a bit too much going on for my liking, so I ended up selling it.

My Bindle 3 by The Row is unexpectedly great for occasional laptop use. The slouchy hobo style with a flat base and wide shoulder strap converts really well into a work bag, although I only use it every so often for this purpose.

Otherwise I get to use my older bags as laptop bags (some very old!!) including a Philo era Celine vertical zipper cabas (perfect for a laptop and documents), Balenciaga Bazar in medium size and my much loved and still fabulous Prada striped canvas messenger bag from many, many seasons ago :heart:

I highly recommend the Givenchy Soft Antigona if that's to your taste.

My laptop is 12" long by 8" high, and it barely fits in my PS1 Medium. I plan to use it until I find something that really works, but the clasp strains to close. If you go this route, I recommend the PS1+, which is sturdier calfskin, over the PS1, which is lambskin, and the large size over the medium. I think it would be a practical choice; I'm just not in love with the look of the PS1 anymore . . .

I’m in the same boat as you. I have been considering a Proenza schuler tote because it seems sturdy to handle what I need to carry

Have you carried a laptop in it? From what I read on here, the bag can't handle the weight of a laptop . . .
I don’t own the artois but I did see it in person. The canvas of the artois is thicker than the canvas of the St. Louis and the corners are reinforced unlike the st. Louis. The artois is a workhorse bag like the LV neverfull. The st.louis is a casual, lightweight tote/ beach bag.

My laptop is 13in
Senreve maestra - no need laptop sleeve as there is laptop compartment. Senreve has other styles.
Prada saffiano double zip 40in - also no need for laptop sleeve, I just slip the computer in one of the zipped compartments
I use some other but discontinued styles....
