I know the Lucky bag is probably an odd choice

, especially coming from me, but I wanted to explain why. Entering my late forties now, I've told my husband for years that I've been far luckier in how my life turned out, than I logically should have been. (And I am immensely grateful to the powers on high).
More to the point, I do not use the word "lucky" casually or flippantly. I hope people can understand that. There are a few members here who know my backstory (hunnyplaya and lizmil for two), but suffice it to say that the circumstances surrounding my birth were far from "Father Knows Best." (Shortest summary: I was someone's dark little secret. And no, it has nothing to do with an adoption.) Even worse, I discovered the unpleasant truth completely by accident, at the already precarious age of thirteen. It
should have messed with my education, yet miraculously did not. It
should have spun me into a teenage rebellion, but did not. It did mess with my perceptions of relationships for a while, so that I waited until graduate school to have my first real boyfriend. But even
that turned into unexplainable luck, as I think God himself dropped the most generous, most loyal, most amazing first-boyfriend-turned-future-husband right into my lap. I didn't even have to go looking for him ... I was simply assigned to help with his dissertation research

. Even our adoption of daughter was amazingly snag-free. ..... I honestly look at God sometimes and say, "Ok, there's absolutely no logical way I should have gone from *there*, to *here*.
What's the catch?"
I only say all that to emphasize that I have never used the words "lucky" or "blessed" flippantly. So when
Coach's "Lucky" bag first appeared on the site, and in light pink? Holy geez, I was right there with my nose pressed to the window.
So now that it's in my hot little hands, I figured I'd post it.
The leather is pebbled and has some thickness to it ... reminds me a lot of the leather on the Shadows (which in turn reminds me of the leather on the Dakotah's .... I've never felt up a Tatum because Tatum's aren't my carry style, so I cannot draw a comparison there). The hangtag is the extra thick whiplash kind (with the whiplashed strand of leather), and is black on one side and saddle-color on the other. The saddle-color surprised me ... I would have expected black and pink like the bag ... but the saddle matches the saddle under the turnlock zipper pull (you'll see it in the pictures). There's also a silver hangtag, and the combination is attached by a jewelry-clasped nickle/metal chain (I'll be adding an extra, homemade safety chain as well, because I'm paranoid like that.

)
I was also surprised to discover that the bag is essentially reversible. One side has the "Lucky" script, and the other has the small, metal Coach logo with horse and carriage. So either side looks good when facing outward. The script itself is "raised" in the leather, then painted. I guess you'd call it reverse-embossed, then painted.
The strap is chain with a leather insert, that likewise has the whiplash weave. One side of the strap is also detachable, which is handy because it means you can easily add an extra dogleash or two if you want a little extension one day.
As far as size, it's a little larger than the Nolita-24, so will certainly hold everything I carry. (Small wallet, mini-skinny, wristlet, epi-pen, full set of spare keys, zip case with paper and a couple pens, phone, clip-on sunglasses, packet of tissues, a few feminine products --- the same stuff I showed recently in the Shadow bag.)
