Hi! I'm also having some similar thoughts.. does anyone stack the love wedding band (gold) with an platinum engagement ring? I have seen some looks, and would love the cartier yellow gold vs getting the platinum, but would it be too horrible of a mismatch?

Hi I'm new to Cartier and this forum and hope you can help me make a decision :hbeat:
Sorry if there's already a thread about this. I've searched but couldn't find one for these specific rings.

I just reached a milestone in my life and my mom wants to buy something to celebrate it. Her budget is approx. 2700 EUR / 3300 USD.

It has to be a piece I can use every day. I was thinking of getting the YG regular Love ring but when I tried it on it was way too chunky on my fingers. Our SA felt the same. The wedding band was really comfortable but I feel like it's too small and unnoticeable and my mom also preferred the wedding band with diamonds (either 1 or full) on me.
I don't wear jewelry often so I will probably wear it on its own.

So what should I choose?
1) Love wedding band plain
2) Love wedding band with 1 diamond or
3) Love wedding band with 8 diamonds (full diamonds).

If I choose the latter, I'll have to pay a little my self. But I feel like the price jump from the plain one to 1 diamond is quite a big splurge just for 1 diamond whereas the value for the 8 diamonds is better but I'll lack the screw detail.

A whole other option would be to invest in the regular love bracelet where I will pay the difference.
My heart is saying 1 diamond, my brain is saying full diamonds, my common sense is saying no diamonds and something in me is saying to go with the bangle instead

I don't own any Cartier pieces yet so this would be my first.

Hi! I'm having the same dillema right now and would love to know which of all the options you eventually chose!

I chose a regular love bracelet but I still haven’t used it and I am contemplating exchanging it for the small version and using the leftover money to buy the ring.

Awww...what did you not like about the regular love? I think I'm going with the small YG love. so bummed I missed it before the price increase though (in the US)

I’m in between sizes and picked the bigger size (size 17). But I’m not too keen on the way it sits on me. The 16 fits fine but it’s on the more fitted size and if I ever gain weight it won’t fit (I got my mom to try it and even the 17 is snug on her. The 16 couldn’t close).

The small love seems a little bigger in size because the screws inside doesn’t poke out as much so the 16 fits perfectly in that one.
I’m also not a big jewelry wearer and think I might prefer the more dainty look and feel rather than having a big bangle on.

The reason I went with the regular was because it’s a forever piece for me. And I’m in my mid 20’s right now where dainty pieces might be more up my alley but perhaps when I’m in my 40’s I would be happy I went with a bigger and more substantial bracelet.
Especially since I don’t like stacking.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It looks like you've thought it through well enough to know what you want.
Post some pictures of your final choice when you do decide to get it :)

If you're still thinking about the love rings I would recommend the original/plain one with no diamonds.
It stacks well with other rings you may buy later down the line.
It's noticeably Cartier but not too loud.

For the quality of the diamonds, 1 diamond is not worth it IMO (when I tried it on in person, the diamond looked a little small), and it would bother me when the ring moves around so that you can't see the diamond. You could go with all full diamonds, but personally, that would lose the touch of historical design that the original/plain one shows.

If you are now deciding on a love bracelet, if you just want one (and are not planning on buying any others to stack), I'd go with the regular size.
I tried on both the small and regular size and even on my small wrists, the small just didn't look substantial enough. I have a 5.75 inch circumference wrist, so I thought that the small would look better on me since I have small wrists, but it just ended up looking kind of weird.
I wear a size 16 for my Cartier love, but I can wear a 15. I chose a 16 for more room so I can wear my watches or other bracelets.

I think the small size is great for stacking and of course, it's much easier to put on and take off.

Overall, I understand you have a budget, so I don't want to pressure you or persuade you to move too far beyond it. I understand the bracelets are more expensive than the rings and the regular love, while substantial, carries a substantial price.

Since the price increase already happened, you can take your time deciding on what you want. Or you can wait a little longer, save up some more, and buy something with a bigger budget!

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Thank you so much for the reply

I’m from Europe so the price increase hasn’t happened yet. We’re expecting the price increase by the 15th July but my SA says it’s approx. 2-3% which isn’t too bad.

I’m with you on the rings. After posting this thread I actually decided on the no diamonds. But then I thought I’d rather put in some extra money and get a bangle instead since I’m not a ring person. My fingers also swell up a lot so I was scared about the size.

My wrist size right at the bone is 14,5 cm (5.7 inches) and I went with size 17 but I’m wondering if I should go with 16. If they had a 16,5 it would be perfect.
But I’m glad to hear you think the regular is better than the small even on our wrist size. I keep going back and forth between the two

You can do all the planning in the world, but things may change when you sit down in that boutique and actually try things on.

I went in to Cartier expecting to buy a small love. I walked out with a regular size JUC — a bracelet that I never considered until I saw it in person that day.

It’s great to read through all these helpful threads, narrow things down and, of course, have (and stick to) a budget. But keep an open mind because seeing jewelry on your own hand is very different than seeing other people’s mod shots. And enjoy the ride!

Yes of course. I would always recommend people to go to the store and try it on for themselves.

I already went in several times and have bought the regular but I’m still indecisive if the regular fits me. If they had half sizes the decision would be much easier. I have my own mod shots on the previous page.

Sorry, Vodense! I think I was so shocked to fall in love with an item I barely looked at prior to my in-person shopping (and this was just last week), that I’m guilty of major projection!

I vote for the one diamond band or just the classic wedding band with no diamonds. The screw motif that “screams” Cartier is the whole reason that people pay a premium for the ring itself. You’re paying for the brand name. The full diamond band is less recognizable as Cartier, although still beautiful, but you can find a comparable one through a local jeweler for a fraction of the price if that’s what you want.

If it helps at all, I’ve worn the same size love since I was in my 20s. I’m in my 40s now. My weight has had its ups and downs, but my wrist hasn’t changed much.
