Im sorry! I guess it would have been nice if I posted up a pic. Sorry! If I remember well, those had regular VVN handles with the regular edge paint, nothing specific. They wear like normal LV stuff.
It's a gorgeous bag, but the red glazing melting off the handles was a problem, even after reglazingIm sorry! I guess it would have been nice if I posted up a pic. Sorry!Someone on this forum mentioned her red glazing on the top handle started coming off. I looked on a preloved site and it's mention there as well re the glazing. I'm just wondering if that is the norm or if people are just rough. Lol

Oh wow! This is AMAZING! Are you in the US? I was thinking of purchasing one and most have issues like you said. Also, the stickiness, what causes that? You would think after all these years later the sickness will go away. Did LV do the repair at no cost to you? How long did they have your bag before you returned it? I know LV can look up your file to see if you purchased the bag from them and although you did not, that is great customer service. Does it really matter if you purchased the bag thru them or not? It's still a bag they created that they need to stand behind. Do you mind taking pics of your bag? Seeing them on line does give you detail shots many times, and they are at a distance.Yes, the glazing became sticky and the luggage tag came apart. However, I took it back to the boutique to see what they could do…just picked her up and could not be happier! They deglazed the entire bag and gave me new handles! Was astonished because this is an older bag and I didn’t keep the receipts. The LV customer service is second to none ❤️
Here she is! I admittedly haven’t worn her much because of all the vachetta. It’s not heavy. Despite being my “loudest” bag, I think she pairs well with a lot of things in my wardrobe. I tend to dress in neutral tones and this would be my statement piece. If the studs are too flashy, you can always wear the red side out. The repair was free of charge. It did take 6 months because they had to ship to France from the US and they needed parts. It’s gorgeous and so unique. Also love both LV and CL, and this collab was so so special and well executed. The primary con would be how delicate the bag is due to the vachetta. Glad the handles are canvas at least! Keep us posted on what you decide!Oh wow! This is AMAZING! Are you in the US? Any other cons with the bag? Is it heavy and also is it easy to pair with many outfits? Just wondering if the studs make it harder to style. Sorry for this long message! Thank you for reaching out! It gives me hope to know I can possibly take my bag to LV. I will message my SA tomorrow. Thank you!![]()
Wow! So even your stored bag got glazing damage? Wow what is the deal with the glazing?! I thought perhaps people had it in the sun or was just rough. Uugh! I'm so bummed. I guess it sounds like LV didn't have a solution on fixing the glazing thats why they didnt do it. That's so unfortunate as it is a stunning bag, even after all these years. Great colab! Thank you for your response.I had purchased two of them, one to carry now and one I planned on breaking out 15-20 years from now. That plan failed, and both bags ended up going back because of the glazing issues on the handles. The archived bag was stuffed, wrapped, and stored in two bags, in a controlled environment; it was disappointing, to say the least.
The CL/LV bag was in my all-time top 3.
Louis Vuitton would not repair them for me, and I did get a store credit for both bags, a very small consolation prize. I would not buy another one because of the ongoing glazing issues with bags of that vintage.
Good Luck,
KimMN
Hi KimMN! I know this bag has issues but I still want one! Lol. Help! Lol. I found one where everything is fine, but the handles. I will attach pics. What caused this? Someone with long nails? I keep my nails short so If it's the nails, I don't think I will add more of these type of glazing gashes to it. Is it from the handle flexing back and forth? I'm thinking I can get someone to fix the glazing on the handles. I'm hoping they can do a repair on the area and blend it in with the remaining glazing on the handles so it looks uniform. I'm not very picky, it doesn't have to be perfect and seamless but I want it to be AT THE LEAST very close to it.I had purchased two of them, one to carry now and one I planned on breaking out 15-20 years from now. Thank you for your reply. I sent a message to my SA but no reply. Yes I will definitely try a cobbler if LV won't repair or will charge more then I want to pay. This bag is stunning! I have nothing like it. I wish I never seen it as I keep thinking about it. HahahaThis looks like the classic glazing issue, it just happens. I don’t even want to say how many LV bags went back to LV with this issue. You may be able to find someone that can strip off the old and put something over the seam, I would try a local cobbler. I chose to let LV take the bags back with the exception of one Capucine that LV was willing to rebuild (they would not rebuild the Christian Louboutin bags).
Good luck in our quest,
KimMN
