I agree! The value of the sterling is pretty poor at the moment so I guess this doesn't help. I just looked at a purchase I made at terminal five at Heathrow in June this year, the (mahina) babylone, I paid £2000 tax free, if I purchased it now off LV it would be £2650. I'm def done for a while.........I guess that's why LV resale holds its price so well.

Wow, that's a huge increase!

Its most likely Brexit related, the value of the pound has fallen sharply against the Euro which is what prices are based on. Just out of coincidence we raised our prices at work last Friday and around the same time as LV in May. At work something that cost £3840 in April now costs £4420, the amount of older people that phone up shocked and angry because the prices have increased is hilarious.
I also thought about the same but the pound against Euro has fallen few months ago, why the prices went up now??

I'm currently here in London and I made my very first LV puchase, Petit Noe in Monogram. The price definitely increased to £815 from around £750-£775(?) from before. Oh well.. ☹️

I´m not an expert but price increases are usually no ad-hoc decisions and it takes some time for a brand to reconsider pricing for a whole country. As the exchange rate is rather volatile at the moment, they would not decide on price increases without observing exchange rates for a longer period of time.

Like us they were probably waiting to see what the currency would do, nobody knew what would happen. They could have increased prices straight away and then a week later the currency could have rebounded so they would have then had to decrease prices again, but it doesn't look like the currency is going to rebound anytime soon to the rates it once was.

Also companies don't exchange currency as and when they need to, they buy it in bulk. Where I work we bough around £200,000 worth of Euros a week before the Brexit vote at a very good rate. This has lasted us up until now which is why we've just had to increase our prices and I suspect LV have done the same.

yeah, I've got the idea, but the thing is... haven't too much time already passed? I mean, of course I am not an expert, but I think that these things are done quickly and not after months, tho I can be wrong, of course.

Hi ladies and gents,

Just wondering if anyone has any inside info on whether the price increase is still taking place this month.... Lots of rumors are going around, with dollars going so strong lately on the market, I heard that potentially US won't raise price for a while. I heard canada is increasing price soon, but not sure... Any idea?
