The worst part is, this collection will probably not sell as well as it should had LV not cut corners in the design/prints...and they might conclude there really was not much interest in Cerises when in fact it's the execution they fumbled. It's highly disappointing compared to what it should have been.

Aesthetically, it gives strong Coach/Kate Spade vibes--and I like both--but it's a completely different price point. The Monogram Side Trunk, On the Go, and Neverfull look ok but I won't really miss the rest. The Speedy should've been the beautiful single-cherry print. The Capucines MM looks nice but not all-out.

I actually like the red too, but for the speedy 30 wish it was a bandoulière strap. A b strap in that red would look super cute!

The traditionally sexual connotations of cherry fruit are undermined by the disarming, candy-coloured smiles of Murakami’s Cherries, offering a joyfully surreal encounter for viewers. In the midst of his deep dive into otaku culture during the mid-1990s, Murakami realised the greater relatable appeal and potential of kawaii, and thus re-oriented his art from confrontation to cuteness. He created a strange, imaginary world of iconic characters including Mr. DOB, Kaikai, Kiki and enchanted mushrooms, eyes, and flowers. He explained in an interview with the New York Times: “I found a system for what is a cute character,” and on a whiteboard at Kaikai Kiki he drew a circle with the top half blank and the bottom half containing two dots for eyes and a smiling mouth. “In the kawaiisystem, this scale is very important” (the artist quoted in Arthur Lubow, ‘The Murakami Method’, The New York Times, 3 April 2005, online).
Saw these on redbook this morning too..Im considering the key pouch (one that our region didnt get for the MC drop), the passport holder and maybe the bag charm (but I got a similar one from Laduree)..Waiting to see better resolution photos to decide...
