Louis Vuitton Canvas damaged?

I am new and cannot do a thread. I have a question. What happens when you do the ear bud dab with acetone at a tiny spot on the bag. Can it corrupt the whole bag coating or only at that spot?

Oh no. @Loriad is right. Vuitton recommends a damp cloth only for a reason. And the everything-free baby wipe is practically just that, that is why we recommend that on the forum.
Acetone is a VERY agressive liquid, and is literally a solvent for flexible PVC (what the canvas coating is really made of). It will dissolve the PVC coating, so the damage will be big, not just inevitable.
Leather conditioners don’t work on PVC either, and if they contain any kind of oil that reacts with PVC, then it can also lead to damage.
As for the magic eraser: I would ban it. Some people reported good temporary results on the forum (for leather in almost all cases), but that thing literally removes the top layers, it is very abrasive. And while leather can withstand not having its topmost layer for a year or two, the thin PVC will not be so forgiving.
Can you show us a pic of the gray spot? I fear that none of these techniques would remove it in a way, that wouldn’t ruin the whole bag.

WOW, the bag looks brand new. How did it get the little tint spot? Was it there when you bought it?
Now it looks like that something abrasive removed the paint and the outer layer of the canvas, while the tint spot remained, because it cause a deep-dye.

It is brand new and I am still in the 30 days. I was thinking of keeping it. There is no difference in the canvas it feels the same. And it's in the bottom.

If you don't mind it that much, then you can keep it. I would have taken it back immediately. The magic eraser might have been a bad idea, because it is abrasive and literally damages the canvas. So even if you would bring it back now, they might refuse an exchange.
But other than this the bag looks so nice :(

I took it in and they offered me exchange but I asked also of they think its damaged and they said no. I tried the whole last month to find this azure 30 made in france and I couldn't find it. I looked for this bag a long time and I can't let it go. And it's on the bottom so I am making my peace with it and will start using it when my return window closes thank you for your feedback.

Did you notice any cracking near the zipper?
No

I have 3 canvas bags and none are making problems. What do you recommend to get rid of possible stains?

It looks like ink that went deep into the material. I doubt that anything would get it out. So the next best thing would be painting it over with an ivory colour, that is the base colour of Azur. But I wouldn't try it myself.

I just wanted to make a note here that the France facility really rarely makes the canvas bags and products nowadays. That facility is usually reserved for exotic LG or custom orders / exclusives. Most canvas LGs will be made in either USA or Spain.
