I opted for the Lou over the toy for this very reason. Was all set to buy the toy because I just love the style. I couldn't do it. Was just too small. I ended up getting the camera bag. I really wish the Lou came with the chain strap instead of the all leather strap.Thanks so much! I actually tried the toy on in store today and it’s soooo much smaller than I thought inside and I don’t think it comfortably fits my iPhone 12max. May be worth bumping up to the small version of the bag or just getting a camera bag. I always have a hard time justifying spending over 2k on a bag when I WFH most the time and don’t go out much. Just beautiful bags and I don’t have a black one besides my longchamp. Thanks for your input and ‘listening’ to me

I actually prefer the leather strap for the Lou camera bag but I bought mine for a casual day bag that can also be worn to dinner. Sometimes my chain handle bags feel too formal for a casual outfit I am wearing and they are cold too! But yes if you are looking for a dressier bag the chain handles look beautiful.
Yes, I'm going solely on looks. My bad just doesn't pop like my others and I feel that the strap is the problem. Mine is black on black though so that could be part of the problem as well. The bag itself is very useful. I wore it non stop when the pandemic first hit and it's super comfortable. I'm still considering the dark beige because the size is good and I don't want to spend 2k on a bag anytime soon.
Do you have any issues with the camera Lou bag? Mine is denting on the top :/Excellent job laying out the differences between the two bags, as well as their pluses and minuses!
To the OP - I have the Lou camera bag and the small loulou, and I love them both. It really comes down to how much you plan on carrying when you’re out. As Thundercloud mentioned, the toy will definitely hold less than the camera, but if you’re only looking to fit a card case and a few other small items, you should be fine. The camera bag holds a fair amount for a smaller bag, but it does seem more casual than the toy (especially when the leather strap is swapped for a chain). As far as the tassel on the camera bag goes, I hear ya! Mine was purchased in 2019, and as soon as I got home I removed it! In regards to wear and tear on the toy, I can only speak to how my small has held up (with admittedly not all that much use), and there are definitely creases in the leather from the flap opening/closing. That being said, my camera bag has a ton of creases as well!
