Yes, when I was in the eight grade I lost a very expensive gold necklace and pendant that my parents got for me. It happened at the end of the semester and I searched everywhere for it at school and realized that someone took it. It wasn't that it was expensive that bothered me, it was very special and sentimental to me too so I was very upset for a long time.

My mom wasn't to happy to find out I lost it either, she thought I sold it for drugs lol!! That was ten years ago, I hope whoever found it was happy!

Well, I didn't lose anything special, but unforunately about 20 years ago I've had someone take some things that were special to me. Years ago while at work, some broke into my home ( to this day, I still believe that it was someone that I knew ) and took the time to ' pick and choose ' what they wanted and my high school & college ring and a beautiful diamond and emerald ring that one of my dear customers had given me just because, was amongst the things that were taken.
My beautiful ring was given to by a jeweler and this ring was breathtaking ( 3.0 carat oval emerald with 2.0 total weight of baguettes cut diamonds) I was young and really didn't understand the true value of the ring, for if I did, I would have insured it and kept it in a safe.

To this day, this still bothers me...

It's so annoying b/c with most ppl here it's been years and it still urks us. I hate that about theives. They take our things which is bad enough in it of itself but they also get to have our sense of safety.

You are so right. I still to this day, feel so violated and at times is afraid to go home alone even though I have a home alarm system.
I don't think that I will ever feel safe in my home and how sad is that

Awww I'm sorry. It sucks I know. You just have to believe that what goes around comes around. You are safe and that's what matters at the end of the day truly.

Thank you so much for this. I am in tears right now. I know that I am safe, for I have a wonderful husband and daughter who reasure me often and plus a great security system!

I really appreciate your kindness and concern.

I had Zoe Chicco gold earrings and lost one because they did not have any backs.
Also my sister stole my ruby earrings. She played with a friend and one earring was gone forever after that. It was in my room, closed in the box.
I ask my aunt to reset it and never got the second ruby back...

No details, but lived through a terrible time. Went to Maui about 18 years ago to celebrate coming out alive and sane on the other end and bought a Hawaiian bracelet from one of the outstanding collections available at the time. It was solid gold and heavy and beautiful. I wore it for years with a Seiko watch that had a faulty clasp. I should've gotten rid of the watch. I guess it must've gotten caught on my braclets clasp and somehow released it...I think it fell off in a parking lot or the car I had at the time. I probably have spent a month over the last ten years looking for it. I will Never have anything in my life that carries the emotional signifigance ever again that was so expensive. I still punish myself by not allowing myself to consider a replacement. It's been years and I'm almost sick now just thinking about it now. It wasn't insured either.

Someone stole my favorite watch in high school. I just put it in my gym locker and someone had taken it during the gym class. I don't even remember the brand, but the face of the watch was a light blue, when it would catch the light it would be different shades of blue green. It was so pretty. I also lost a silver ring that boyfriend bought me at the Miami airport. I was washing my hands in the bathroom, and forgot to pick it up. He bought it for me when we were on vacation, a reminder of the trip.

A little gold pendant that was a baptism gift from my grandmother. Every one of my cousins received one as a baptism gift from her. I lost it when I was 10 or so. I was so scared of telling my mother. She later found out and wanted to buy another one to replace it but it wasn't the same. Still sad over that loss.:cry:
