researching your own diamond requires a lot of legwork, but in the end, it will also save you the most money. i don't think you can get the same cut, clarity, carat, and color at that price range if you go to a branded store. however, you might be able to secure yourself an interest free financing plan if you qualify at a branded store which a smaller store may not be able to offer. there's a lot of different factors involved. go with whatever option that will give you a peace of mind. gl.

Buying an engagement ring, like a house or a car are major investments that will give great pleasure. To answer the question of how much a diamond would cost at Harry Winston, go in and ask. You don't have to buy. Of course, they offer more than an online store. Of course it will cost more, but go in and find out the difference. HW, Tiffany, etc. are still in business not because they overcharge. They do provide a knowledgeable staff who have experience in showing diamonds. They will make the experience fun and interesting, as will any good jewelry store. Also, you can get a glass of champagne, or espresso, or both!

BTW, the 2ct with F color is minimum with "NO brand" cost minimum 47,000 usd already:shrugs:

IF you go to HarryWinston ,you will end up like maybe 100K minimum also.

But if u think these worth for your wedding , Go for it !!
And please post for us here ;) . We would really love to see the 2ct strong-icy color.

HW and Graff are defenitely the best of the best inregards to diamonds. Not only because of their household name but it is because of the cutting that makes their diamond more expensive. For example....a rough 4 carat diamond will be cut to be a 1 1/2 carat for these two houses...where else if you buy them loose from an unknown company, they will cut a rough 4 carat diamond probably to a 2 1/2 or 3 carat stone. (These are rough estimate BTW)

For me, I have diamonds from great household names and not so famous ones but i can tell you the different in the sparkle of the diamonds are huge. From all of the best Diamond retailers.....the middle ground for me is Tiffany. Their diamond are cut without compromising carat and beauty.

This is a REALLY old thread you resurrected. You may want to report it and ask for the mods to spin it into a new one or your not going to get many responses.

Which of the three did you like most with your eyes? You cannot really pick a cushion based on paper, you need to pick what you like with your eyes.
