I'd go for the diamond, they take the biggest price increases so purchasing now is like saving later - right?
I would buy the pendant. do you have an 18" chain that you could put it on? or will tiffany's exchange for a longer chain? I bet they would (for an upcharge).
See I kind of disagree that the pendant isn't an everyday piece! In the soleste design it's certainly more dressy, but in this style I think it's every bit as wearable as the diamonds by the yard necklaces in white diamonds, no?
This little drop of sunshine could be yours!!! ...(you DID ask for enablers!)

so many people responding!! thanks everyone, I apologize in advance if I don't respond to everyone... Jordanjordan, I love the necklace but I do have a solitaire champagne diamond that is .56 so its around the same size as the yellow diamond, I also wear a st onge pendant when I want a bigger necklace pendant, this is what is holding me back from the necklace I feel like I have bought a few very nice pendants the last 6 months or so.I really like the pendant. I have never understood the appeal of the Love bracelet.
thanks for your opinion skyqueen! I do drool over the yellow diamond *sigh*Well...you came to the right place for enablers! LOL!
I'd pick the necklace...unique but classic. Jeans or dressy, layered or not. I think you'd get a lot of wear out of the necklace. Your look can be changed easily.
HI Jen! I was hoping you would respond since you have bought both of these pieces recently!YAYAYAYAY!!! What a fun thread!!!
Okay well as the owner of both of these amazing items I think you have perfect taste!
I'm so excited for you that you're able to get one of your dream pieces right now!!! I KNEW it wouldn't be long before you fell for that diamond!!
My vote would be for the yellow diamond pendant for sure!!! Here's why:
First: I understand the feeling of wanting to wear it out of the store! But don't make your decision based on that. Cartier may well not have your size in stock so you might have to wait, and Tiffany's can lengthen a chain in 5 days (I did that too, HATE 16 inches!) and the wait is well worth it. I'm taking mine back to have it lengthened to 19 actually! And when I pre-ordered my LOVE they didn't have the size I wanted in stock so I had to wait a bit for that one too.
Price wise... both are going to go up in price, probably equally in the next year as the yellow diamonds are still in their introductory phase. So I think that cancels each other out that way.
I get that "you can admire" things on your hand more... but I just love that everyone who sees you will see that yellow diamond right away! I love the idea of highlighting your face (like earrings do) - kind of feel like that brings out your beauty too? LOL... like Elizabeth Taylor. I don't know! I would be just as happy to see the diamond in the mirror as the bracelet on my wrist!
IF you were positive you were going to get both one day, I would go see Tamara at Cartier on Bloor (tell her Jen said hi!) and get the 12 month card if you can. Take the bracelet home (after buying the yellow diamond of course!) and promptly put it in a safe or hidden away so that you can't have it until it's paid for. I've done that a lot of times (am actually doing that with my yellow diamond until baby #3 comes along!). That way when you do officially take it out and wear it, it WILL be yours! BUT you'll save yourself likely $500 or more as they seem to do twice a year increases.
Another tip - if you can buy either in the US, do it!!! You'll definitely save $$. OR ask to speak to a manager at Tiffany's and see if you can have that one brought it for the US price because the dollar makes those differences make NO sense right now.
Either way you will have a gorgeous classic piece!!! I feel like you've just altered your sapphire bracelet though and have very pretty wrist decorations already... so why not go for the summery drop of sunshine now and wait for the bracelet? It's not going anywhere! That's the good thing!!
Cannot wait to hear what you decide!!

I knwo the love is making me giddy too thinking about it!!! maybe its because I havnt tried on the tiffany yellow diamond? but then again I havnt tried on a love bracelet either!!!I would choose the bracelet; that is my dream bracelet.
I know you have those DBTY ones that you wear a lot; will the LOVE interfere?
Diamonds are nice, but gold makes me giddy!
I dont know what to do, I thinking i'm going to go to both stores this friday or saturday and try some pieces on....Don't worry about the chain! If you're looking at a piece that pricey, you should get EXACTLY what you want and I don't think you'll have to wait more than a few days. I had one store overnight ship a ring from NY to CA for me because I was leaving the country and didn't want to buy it overseas.

Hi Frick! I like bangles, actually I bought a rose gold bangle a few years ago because I thoguht it looked like the cartier love, but it was think and the diamonds in it were horrible....so I have wanted to cartier for a long timeI would buy the pendant. do you have an 18" chain that you could put it on? or will tiffany's exchange for a longer chain? I bet they would (for an upcharge).
I like jewelry that I can see, but bangles bother me. I think they're uncomfortable to wear daily, & it really upsets me every time I scratch it...which happens every time you wear it. I rarely wear my bangles.
I would definitely wear the cartier love more, I dont plan on taking it off!Another vote for the bracelet BUT--which would you wear more?
I agree with everything you said, this is why I think I am leaning towards the cartier....That's a really hard one!
I like the Tiffany's necklace better. It's awesome. BUT..
The bracelet you can see and admire. Plus the bracelet can be worn with what ever else. You can layer it with a watch or other bracelets. I think it would get A LOT more wear. The necklace is more a stand on it's own piece. I think it will take your breath away each time you put it on, but it's not an everyday life long piece.
That being said, It you plan on getting both eventually, I would almost get the diamond first because the bracelet will always be there. Who knows if the necklace will be.
I agree with this, but I already have the champagne solitaire(.56) on a rose gold chain and setting, this is my subtle sparkly casual necklace!I'd go for the necklace first. I agree with skyqueen; it's unique yet classic. It really could be worn with any outfit; adding a little bling to an otherwise casual outfit or putting that subtle but noticeable finishing touch on a dressy, polished outfit.
See I kind of disagree that the pendant isn't an everyday piece! In the soleste design it's certainly more dressy, but in this style I think it's every bit as wearable as the diamonds by the yard necklaces in white diamonds, no?
