Hi all! I absolutely love the classic style of the Chanel 2.55 reissues but the price point is far more than I'm willing to pay for a bag, especially after the price increases. I've also considered buying pre-loved but I'm wary about fakes on the market and I don't really want to pay more than ~3k for a bag anyway.

My favorite things about the bag are the following:
  1. The double chain that can be converted to a crossbody chain
  2. The classic style, especially for the gold hardware + black/neutral/white bag combos
  3. The minimal branding/no logos (it's very if-you-know-you-know)
  4. Good quality

Any recommendations for bags that satisfy the above?

More elaboration: My friend recently got the Gucci Dionysus and while it suits her because she likes visible branding, I think the big tiger-snake and Gucci print all over make it too very obviously branded for my tastes. I like being very low-key about fashion choices.

I was considering the Strathberry East/West or East/West mini but I'm not in love yet:

Looking for more suggestions  Thank you!

The Coach Madison bag is a really pretty option. Plus, they are super budget friendly and on sale! Lots of colors too on the coach website.

I think the larger C logos are still much for my taste! They seem kinda Chanel-esque in their design (more like the bags with the larger CCs or the little charms), it's cute for someone who is a fan of visible branding. Maybe looking for something more minimalist and sleeker?

I adore flap bags with sliding chain straps! I have a vintage Chanel jumbo, YSL LouLou, and Gucci Marmont, though I suspect all those would be too branded for your tastes. I also have two Coach Parkers - one has the "C" clasp which again, may be too branded, but the other has a tea rose clasp which I adore for its dainty femininity and also makes it far less branded. All that being said though, I actually thought of Massaccessi as a possibility for you when I read your post.

I just ordered a Massaccessi Astra Satchel with a sliding chain strap instead of a top handle, which makes it a double-chain shoulder/crossbody bag. You can heck out the Massaccessi handbags thread here to learn more. The thread is a good intro to the work of MM in general, but if you search the thread for "Astra", you should be able to find photos of the Astra satchel with a sliding chain strap.

Massaccessi is awesome because you can really customize a bag to suit your needs. Admittedly, it can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but everyone on the Masseccessi thread is happy to help, and customizing a bag to suit your needs is awesome. I mean, I really love my YSL LouLou and Coach Parkers, but I hate the middle zip divider in them. With Massaccessi, you can remove features like this if you want (or add them in if you want). You can choose the leather, lining, hardware color, and you can also ask for certain add ons or remove feature that don't work for you. So, for example, the Astra satchel I ordered is a top handle bag that comes with a messenger strap. I opted to remove those and add a two-way sliding chain strap instead and specified my desired strap drop. I choose to color-block my bag with fuchsia, silver, and black leather. I opted for black lambskin lining, dark gunmetal hardware, and added an exterior slip pocket on the back. I just placed the order so I don't have it yet, but I have other Massaccessi bags, and the quality it top notch. Also, the owner, Marco, is an absolute gem, and he really goes above and beyond to make his customers happy. I think the Astra with a sliding chain strap with be the MM style closest to what you are looking for, although it's not a quilted leather bag, so if your heart is set on quilted leather, it may not be the one for you. But I thought I'd throw it out there as an option!

I love my Kurt Geiger flaps, they come in many sizes, materials, colors, gold or silver hardware. I find them very sturdy, there is an inner divider in the versions I have where the chain loops through, this puts less stress on the flap. Most have the eagle which I love, not sure if too much for your tastes. The eagle ones are usually called Kensington. This brand also has flaps with a lock detail instead of the eagle, might be an older style but I have seen them at Nordstrom Rack in store and online, usually called Brixton.

I have also seen Karl Lagerfeld flaps, they had a clasp similar to reissue but it said Karl Lagerfeld instead of Chanel, and they had the traditional Chanel style leather or tweed strip looped through metal chain.
