Hey everyone!

I'm a college student looking for an affordable and versatile bag such as the Longchamp Le Pliage. However I was thinking that the bag has been "in" or a while now and was wondering if it's worth it to buy one now. I mean will it be soon out of fashion? (and also considering that it is everywhere in the streets...) So my question is: should i invest in one now? If not, what is a good alternative?

Thanks!

I've been seeing le pliages being carried for more than 10 years now so it's safe to say that this bag is here to stay. It's such a functional bag so it's definitely worth it to invest in at least one!

I honestly don't think Le Pliage will go out of fashion soon. I too have seen them carried around on various university campuses across the U.S. for the past 10 years (yep, from undergrad to grad school and now in med school). They're great light-weight bags for school and travel.

I think it's a classic bag, and I don't think it's on the way out anytime soon :)

I have one (arbre de vie in white), and as soon as my mum saw it, she wanted one too. She's a college teacher, and she has mentioned that she's been getting compliments for the bag from colleagues and the students :)

It's such a useful bag, in all it's sizes, it's not really high fashion in terms of an It bag, it's just useful and practical and people have them for that reason rather than buying it for it's stylishness. I just ordered the XL for my next holiday, I don't think they will go out of fashion as long as they remain pratical, they've been around for such a long time, other brands bring out similar models but they come & go, the Le Pliage remains top of it's class and doesn't disappear from shelves like a 'fashion' bag does

Classic bag, in style forever, and even if it's deemed to be "out" who cares??? You like it right? I'd much rather wear my bags when no one else is wearing them.

If I had to describe Le Pliage I would use 2 architectural terms. Modernism and Functionalism. It is not "pretty" or "cute" made to serve a purpose, and it serves it good, a whole other game in aesthetics. It has austere lines and no ornaments except the leather stamp and the little metal zipper closure.

So imho it will always be a popular bag.
