hello - I have read all the threads on London and podium orders, and that there are no lists anymore etc, but i am still confused as to how london works, so here s my question:

Does anyone know or have experience of whether there were any lists in London now in 2010 since it was announced that there are no lists anymore? How does it work these days? Has anyone placed an order and if so, when did it arrive/ when were you told it will arrive?

Thank you!

No list anymore only in London or worldwide? :shrugs:

Ok, I am sorry if I have confused everyone here or got the wrong end of the stick...

I do remember reading on this forum a couple of months ago that there are no waiting lists etc or something along these lines, I cant remember very well and I didnt read too carefully at the time because I wasnt interested. I am trying to do the search and I cant find what I read to send it to you... And thus my query as to how London works post this development.

I was at the Bond Street one yesterday for another reason and overhead an order being taken for this Russian couple. She was ordering a 35 white Birkin in Clemence. I don't know if this means that PO is open or what, but the order was being taken by one of the female SAs up by the cashier.

Tustin, I had heard of stories like that before, ie nothing to do with a list per se and going on a specific day. Did you happen to hear at all how long they said it would take?

My SA at Bond Street told me that they no longer are having a list. Not sure how it is going to work from now on - I guess that whatever bags the store gets in are free for everyone to purchase.

Thank you. That was a bit of what I had started putting together too, having though not been told this by anyone. Who knows though. Any idea how long it could take them to get what one if after in? Or she said nothing about that?

I am not quite clear on how the system will now work. Despite there not being a list, I was able to place a bag to be ordered at the next podium, so it appears that known customers would be able to request bags to be ordered at the podiums, but other bags would be ordered at the manager's discretion and sold openly as they come in. I think.

Each store has a quota of Birkins and Kellys they can order at Podium. Stores can either orders bags of their colour and choice or order ones specifically for customers requests (like the one you ordered). This is at the sole discretion of the store as to whether they allow customers to place a request for a bag. The rest as you have already mentioned are available to be sold openly or used against the waiting list (for stores that operate one). HTH
