Loewe collabs have such an allure! They 1000% opened my Loewe floodgates and I haven't been able to stop since then.

Charms always have and will always be my weakness but I created a rule that if I think I can needle felt it myself, I won't buy it. BUT if a felt charm has really unique embellishments or a very special design I'll consider it. Just tryna save money 💰 haha. Everything else is free game though, so hoping you have stronger willpower than me! Stray strong soldier

Ooh, I was thinking that too but I don't know how to needle felt. Do you think any of these could be done yourself? I also think it'd be nice to get ones that are more unique like you said. Currently contemplating capybara, red panda, corgi (and if they make it, tapir).

It's definitely doable enough that people are mass producing fakes! Please see below of the photos I've found on Chinese social media of fakes and even some personal creations. Personally, I think as long as you're not trying to sell it or pass it off as real I think it's okay to try! But if you try to profit off of it and pretend it's real that's a big nonono. As a PSA, I'd be extremely wary of purchasing felt charms second hand because it's just so easy to fake.

As for the technical aspect I think the biggest challenges would be color matching and getting the proportions right! Otherwise I think it's a fun little activity to try 😊

Woah! It's crazy to see all these fakes. But you're right, they are fairly easy to make and on the simpler charms Loewe's markup must be huge. Side note - I have never seen this white bunny with the pink nose. If I could find an authentic one of these I would actually die!

Thank you for the PSA! It's really good to see the ones that they can fake to stay away from them.

What I meant by my question was out of those 3 charms (capy, red panda, corgi), is there 1 that is harder to replicate? So that if I had to choose, I'd get the harder to replicate one. But seeing that the black market can make a fake of the otter+child charm, I guess any of the ones I mentioned can be replicated. Safest to get them from boutique now.

If you wouldn't mind sharing the photos of the super fake bags (here or in a DM), please do so.

I'm pretty sure that one is a personal creation! It doesn't give off that Loewe whimsical, abstract vibe to me, so I feel like they never released such a design before, but please correct me if I'm wrong! I'm a new Loewe fan, so not super knowledgable haha

I'm personally so interested in felting my own charm in my own style because you can get so creative and cute just like that one!

I'd say the red panda out of those 3! I don't felt myself at all, but I imagine if something is more architectural and has less straight lines, more colors and small details it'll be harder to create. For example, of the fakes I've seen, the owl charm always seems to be a challenge because getting the proportions right is quite difficult and if it's off by a tiny bit it looks creepy and wrong.

Like you mentioned I'd say the otter is a challenge as well, but it's still doable with patience and practice. Something unique design-wise to me would usually mean something like the recent elephant felt charm or the hammock bag felt charm! The elephant has the bananas sewn into the trunk and leather leaves surrounding it. And the hammock bag charm just feels like an art piece, the creativity and intricacy are all there and it just feels so so special!

Honestly, I really trust my intuition with things like this, so if it feels right I usually purchase. At the end of the day many of these charms or even bags can be "recreated" with a quick Google search and some willpower, but I often purchase with the intention of owning a little bit of the ingenuity and beauty of JW Anderson's mind. I am in no way discouraging purchasing pieces that seem "easily replicable!"-- either choice you make is the right one! I made that rule for myself to try and save some money, but Loewe is just too good lol!😭

I did not stay strong at all. I went on the site intending to get the elephant dice pocket but I didn't like the beads so I left it. I guess I saved on that but then I got the red panda charm, elephant coin card and tapir bifold instead so I spent more than I saved but the coin card is less than the pocket so girl math wise I guess I saved money The red panda was too cute and it seems cuter in person looking at your photos. I keep seeing red panda videos on social media too which did not help my resolve its like loewe knew about my current red panda video watching. I'm only just managing to stay away from the frog/kid charm. It looks like they've also shipped my order in multiple packages as well which makes it seem more excessive somehow. I was meant to be saving for the woven handle puzzle but I keep getting distracted by new and on sale things and now I really like the abyss colour too. Maybe I don't want that puzzle as much as I thought

What good choices, I hope you love your purchases! I too am constantly girl mathing my Loewe purchases hehe 😉

Agreed, a criticism I have with Loewe is that they always ship separately. Like I understand it's because each item has it's own packaging, but it's so environmentally unfriendly. Like I'd be happy if they threw my entire order in a big well packaged box or ship larger items separately and smaller items together, etc. Hopefully they'll do that one day!

You can always try it out and return! I found sometimes just being able to experience an item myself scratched my itch and I would realize I wouldn't regret returning it. I'm sure the woven handle puzzle will come to you in time, it's a gorgeous piece. 😉

Unrelated to charms but super fake bags are also mass produced with scary accuracy so be careful with those as well! Seeing all this is actually quite distressing 😓. I have photos of other bags that have been replicated and happy to share them if requested!View attachment 6010920View attachment 6010921View attachment 6010922View attachment 6010923View attachment 6010924View attachment 6010925View attachment 6010926View attachment 6010927View attachment 6010928
omg these are wild. Could you please share the other bags you've seen that are fakes?

I have to say, some of the original creations like the Howl's cow charm is so cute.

Yes the boxes they use for delivery would definitely fit more than one SLG even with boxes bags and tags. The perfume orders all get delivered together

I could but when it comes to loewe I always end up loving it and keeping it (once ive figured out straps) and the price of this one has stoped me impulse buying.. I've sent lots of things I thought I'd love back from other brands over the years but not from loewe apart from a pair of sunglasses and an older style flamenco. Most of Jonathan Andersons designs get me at least the ones for loewe do. At least the tapir wallet would help me know the right colour for sure because part of it is Sahara.
