Wow, thanks for sharing this.
Personally, I find this a complete turn off. I won't beg a company to let me spend my money. So what if I don't have the best handbag, or the best jewelry, etc..... At least I have my pride and dignity and that's more important to me.:annoyed:
yes, and take my money elsewhere on jewellery instead or something equally pleasurable.

If it's immoral to pay someone to stand in a (legal) line for you, then it should also be considered immoral to have someone do tasks for you that you don't like or don't want to do for yourself .... house cleaning, cab drivers, nannies, among other common services people regularly purchase because they can't or don't want to do do those things themselves. I totally understand that some people may not like the line because it seems to make it harder to get a bag, or because it appears to be a public safety or even just an aesthetic issue. But there is really nothing immoral about it.

Hi im new to this thread.

I come baring good good news though , Police forcefully removed all the line sitters yesterday.

The problem with the line sitters was not that they were selling their place, but rather that that were expoiting it by selling one spot to up to 10 people and on top that they were posing a security treat and causing discomfort for local residents because they were camping on the pavement in latge groups.

Had they been more discreet and just sold one spot to one person i don't think there would have been a problem. After all thy probably had to put food on the table as well. Paris can be a tough city.

In all cases i hope it will make shopping at Hermes a bit more pleasant ☺️

YES! Come through!
That guy without a vest is hot <3

That little green hut is for the guards protecting the embassies. You can see how close it is. I'm surprised they were as patient as they were. Security in Paris is a serious matter. They don't need the distraction, fights, parade of people to use the restrooms at the hotels on that block and other nonsense that was going on.

Indeed that baffled me too! They were really patient for a long time.

The good thing that came from this situation is that, from what i understood, nobody is allowed to form a queue at unreasonable hours anymore. Not sure what is their definition of unreasonable is, but i'm guessing surely not before the sun is well up. Halelujah.

Btw i will remove the picture, because i just realized it might not be allowed to post pictures of the police (recognisable) online (??) or is it?

Maybe just make the faces blocked our? I think it's important for people to see.

Thank you for posting this. From the post on the other thread it seems like Hermes is providing security starting at 8 am and if one leaves the line they can't come back. So I suppose they consider 8 am to be reasonable. If people are not being allowed to line up earlier than that, it solves the issue with the line space sellers. There will still be resellers in line of course but hopefully the deck won't be so stacked against true Hermes customers looking for bags for themselves.

I hoping this will be permanent
Getting rid of all these pests

First off FSH is a public street, so they can't forbid anyone from sleeping or lining up in the streets, if that's the case they should close the store and build a mall in the middle of Paris and reopen the flagship there. Secondly homeless people are people just like us, we don't know what type of hardships they have gone through to be in that situation. They don't really bother anyone IMHO. You can stop and give them something or not.
First of all, let me be clear that I have nothing against the homeless. You have misinterpreted my post. There is no way an exclusive store with highly valuable pieces will allow them or spot sellers to sleep outside. For security reasons and the brand image.

H can't stop people sleeping on the streets but they have 100% control in how they offer leather appointments. They are responsible.

Not sure if I agree with this logic. How is my laziness in cleaning my own home leading to me hiring help a detriment to others not being able to enjoy a clean home?

The spot sellers are blatantly taking away opportunities to purchase coveted bags by creating a disadvantage for some true fans of H who are queuing for themselves and not profiteering from the situation.
