I think that H should have I.M. Pei build a giant glass dome around FSH and put all the Birkins and Kellys in a giant Cornucopia at the center. At 10 30 am the first 24 people in the queue enter the dome and fight to the death. The survivor gets to choose a bag. Then the next 24 in the queue are allowed in.
Solves the problem, likely discourages resale as a business, AND creates reality TV.

I would watch it!

They should just go back to the old system. Their main reason for not doing anything is that "what happens outside the store is not their problem". If they move the line back inside, like in the old system then, they have full control over the line. Just saying.....

That's not gonna happen. The reason why they moved the line outside is because it ruins the shopping experience of the people inside the store and makes the SAs uncomfortable and exhausted.

Agree. The shopping experience was becoming intolerable with the long line in the store. Customers who wanted to buy other things in the store were afraid to come in. It was too crowded. You couldn't even get to the case with the cashmere shawls at all. This is a business. They should and will cater more to people who are regular customers who want to buy a variety of things. I know you guys don't like that but that's the truth. Capitalism as you say.

They won't go back to that and they shouldn't. I would just stop selling bags to walk ins until I could figure out a better system if I were them. And they won't figure it out now in July and August at the height of tourism season when many of their employees are on vacation. I know that's not popular but this is crazy. Blame the people camping out over night not Hermes. Still think the line sellers are good honorable people just helping out and making a buck? And blame the people paying them. Tacky.

They will not stop selling bags to walk-ins since the profits should be considerable and local/regular customers likely cannot take up all of the b/k supply FSH has to offer.

Maybe they should set a non-leather purchase requirement for walk-ins to be fair to regular clients. They will make more profits and the line of walk-ins should also be shorter.

these people camping at Flagship hermes store to get the bag? Does it give them highest chance to score the bag and less for people get inline at 7am.
They are line spot sellers. They don't go inside FSH. They sell their spots for people who actually want to buy bags. And based from my calculations, they earn about twice what the average Frenchman earns per day (with an additional day, coz H is open on Saturdays) and they don't pay taxes. :D
