For me personally, if I'm choosing a bag it needs to fill a need. An example would be: work tote, crossbody for errands, evening clutch with goldtone hardware, or dressy satchel.

If it fills a need and the choice would be to get a Limited/Special Edition on vs. a staple one, it would then depend on usability (and price). If I'm looking for something to be a workhorse and it's a delicate suede with crystals, then no. But if it's buttery soft leather, it'd make a great workhorse and it would come home with me. I'll spend the money on a LE/SE version if it feels worth it. :D I would already be spending the money, so why not spend it on something special!

I gravitate towards the bags that please my eye and answer to my needs. I don't care if everyone else and their mother has it or noone else has it, if I like it that's enough.

I agree with many posters that say they will choose a design that they are in love with and is functional within their lifestyle, regardless of the fact that it is LE or an IT bag.
Sure, if both criteria are fulfilled, it is a bonus if it is LE (must be within my budget of course). Not so much if it is an IT bag, not too keen on that though.

It's definitely limited edition for me! I cannot resist few of a kind, and am a sucker for the rare and particularly special.

I am going to agree with what many other users have posted...I go for neither.

Personally, I don't buy bags because of a trend or how rare it is. I buy bags to use and if I like the way it looks, feel, carries...then I'll buy it. I have my own tastes and I choose each of my bag lovingly and with great thought...it wouldn't be like me to buy something just because it what is hot now.

I will not however rule out that I wont purchase something that is popular. It all depends on if I like it. If I do and it just happens to be popular, awesome...but I wont purchase something just because it is popular...if that makes sense. XD
