Seeing that you’re from Canada, how about trusty Roots? Their Catalina Saddle Bag fits your requirements and here’s the best part: it’s cheap!

Maybe take a look at Polene https://eng.polene-paris.com/products/ (there's a thread here).
The PS1 is my go-to travel bag, and I also like my Pashli. I'm eyeing Ferragamo Sofia (the soft version) and the Polene numero Sept (altho no outside pocket on this).

Thanks! I like the Polene #9. But again...just a big black hole inside.

Good to hear of another vote for the PS1! Sounds like a great bag. I’ve never been too much a fan of the Pashli but like his Alix top handle. And was so close to pulling the trigger on a Ryder when it was still being made. I played with one in store and really liked it but could tell the way the zipper was constructed with the stiff leather would make it harder to get things in/out of.

Oooo...good one!

Thanks everyone for your insight! I think it’s really coming down to the PS1 or the Minkoff Darren. These two tick ALL the boxes but are miles wide in price/prestige. The PS1 means I’d have to sell some other bags whereas the Darren is on killer sale. The Darren means my collection would have more variety, but on the other hand I like to keep my collection honed down to a small number of bags that are most practical for me. :confused1:

@foxgal Well, because of suggestions offered here, I picked up a PS1+ Tiny in Lemon Yellow for an insane price - check Reebonz, they've got a 20% thing going plus ANV10T21 for another 10% off until the end of January. I used to have a PS1 in the medium size years ago and found it too unwieldy, so the Tiny! Perfect! Can't wait to get her!

Congrats! That is super cute! You’re right... I need to keep my eyes open for sales.

Do you have any other suggestions?

+1 on PS anything! A super-extra plus is that it has a lot of really great internal organization, but because the leather is really soft (but somehow also super durable?!), it doesn't do that weird accordion thing where the bag looks massive from the side, even when you put a lot of stuff in it (*ahem*, Chloe Faye).

I had the PS1 tote (super heavy, would not recommend), PS medium, and PS pouch, and they are absolute workhorses! Can't wait to see what you get!

@foxgal , if you're not fussed on hardware, mlouye also has great architectural-looking bags! The Naomi comes in a bunch of colorways (depending on the colorway, you get either gold or silver hardware), plus can convert between crossbody and hand-carry, and theoretically could be modified into a belt bag if you were so inclined.

@foxgal I really don’t. I tend to go N/S. I’m loving my Portland Leather Goods Mini Crossbody Totes, thanks to @dcooney4, but they are ... N/S. Might take a look, though, see what you think. You could have a LOT of them for that budget you have.

Roots were my go-to bags when my kids were small.

I have the LV Soufflot MM, which has three compartments and can be wear cross body (sorta). It also comes in a smaller version. You’d have to go check in store for the epi leather is it’s sold out online. I have the classic monogram but I know that’s now what you were looking for.
