Let's talk about rose gold...

I wear mostly platinum and white metals. I do own a few yellow gold pieces but rarely wear them. I have very fair skin that is olive in undertone. I find the yellow seems so yellow on me --and the rose gold seems more harmonious with my skin and also looks softer when mixed with platinum. I have an Hermes Chaine D'ancre in rose gold and wear it almost every day. Its the only thing I own in rose gold and I would to get some other pieces eventually

love love love rg because i think that it matches my skin tone very well. YG just seems too flashy and cheap, while silver or white gold doesn't really go with my complexion, makes me look darker. RG is a bit more feminine and girly.

but be careful with tiffany RG, the pinkness tends to fade and will look like YG with wear.

I must say, I've worn rose gold (from various jewellers) for a couple of years and never had anything fade. But I do worry that it's inevitable when I read people's experiences here. I am very careful avoiding chlorine and chemical cleaning products while wearing my gold...I wonder if that's helping. I also use protective polishing cloths and store in airtight boxes while not wearing.

I love the way rose gold disappears against the skin...It is less stark than yellow gold, on my fair skin especially. I do wear yellow and white too - and I mix and match freely :)

I absolutely LOVE rose gold!! It is by far my favorite jewelry metal, just because of the soft, lit-from-within look that the metal has. The way candlelight softens everything and makes it glow with warmth... THAT is what rose-gold looks like (to me) compared to other metals.

I have a very fair, rose-tone complexion and rose gold compliments my skin tone well. It can be "too pink" and blend into my skin if I'm wearing a short necklace... but as far as rings, earrings and bracelets are concerned, it's my favorite.

Most often, I combine my rose gold with yellow gold because those are the two metals that I wear most often (as white metals look "harsh" against my pink skin and I have allergies to the alloys of most white metals). However, rose gold compliments silver and platinum well!! I love pairing rose gold with two-tone (white/rose) costume pieces for the day, and if I weren't allergic to nickel I would own many two-tone pieces.

Rose gold doesn't seem to work well when I wear red, orange or yellow... but those colors don't look flattering on me, anyway. I wear mostly blue, grey, black, white and neutrals.

Cartier's RG is subtle and really beautiful. My SA was trying to talk me into getting the RG love bracelet because it goes really well with my overall color, but I opted against it. I think I always would have second guessed my decision if I had.

I love my rose gold snake cuff and Anita ko bracelet!!! I think my snake cuff wouldn't look so girly and pretty in yellow gold idk just my preference I love mixing yg and rg together , all three golds go together you can't go wrong
I just love the look of it it's so pretty
It depends on the piece of jewellery as to which metal I prefer
I have high allergies and I've had no problems with my 14k gold Anita ko bracelet or my rg snake cuff both rg and worn 24/7 for almost a year ... I was worried about having a reaction but nothing I'm so happy :) as I love these peices

I LOVE rosegold!!! Back in the 80's my mom said it was tacky and that people should only wear 18k - 22k yellow gold or silver. But now that I'm a grown up with my own tastes and opinions, to me it' so pretty! Especially with pinkish or white stones! Also quartz.

The only risk is that it's 'trendy' and if the trend doesn't keep going, rose gold might go back the way of black and green gold. a passe novelty.I doubt it though.

I have all 3 popular shades of gold, white, yellow and rose. I found that WG gave modern look and work with every outfit, and in most occassiond. YG and RG is not easy to wear, but for me YG is more flashy and RG has a shade of soft "glamour", and it works better with casual outfit. RG is also difficult to mix with colour gems, so far I have only wear plain RG pieces and RG with diamond and ruby, while WG goes well with all types of gems and YG is almost the same, but for me YG sometimes make me feel aged... so I stay with WG but do mix with RG and YG a lot.

The biggest thing I've learned about rose gold is that they are not created equal. 14k rose gold will be more pink since there are more alloys mixed in and 18k will be closer to yellow. So for rose gold I prefer 14k.

I would respectfully disagree: it is the alloys and manufacturing. Even some yellow golds vary in "yellowness." I own some vintage rose gold in both 14k and 18k and they are very similar in color. I own a modern RG bracelet and it is no less pink than the others. Many high end manufacturers are trying for a certain hue of rose/ pink so that is part of the equation.

I'm just going based off my own experiences.

Speaking of the '80s, do you remember tri-color and how popular it was?
