Let's have some support for not buying dream bags

Congrats coco-nut! I sorta did the same thing with the Mizi Vienna that I bought. I felt guilty for spending all that money and decided I shouldn't just indulge in everything I like--so it went back. I don't buy every pair of shoes I like or all the clothes that I try on that fit. I've decided to really think through my purchases and get a few things to savor. Rather than going all out on a bunch of things and not appreciating each one.

If you feel you did the right thing you most likely did :D I'm sure its tough, but if thats the best thing for your situation right now, I say that theres nothing wrong with it. You always have a shoulder to cry on here! *hug*

good job! I need money for travel and an apartment, so all the bags I want are going to have to go on hold for now. but there will ALWAYS be something else you want to buy!

Thank you all for your kind words. Life has seemed stressful lately and I could have seen this as being a short lift. But it'd probably have ended up stressing me out later. Or at least it wouldn't have helped me with my original issues.

I especially appreciate the comments from those of you who thought it was gorgeous too! I just love natural materials and fine craftsmanship.

I just now had a similar (but less expensive) thing happen to me. raffaello-network.com customer service just e-mailed me saying they are refunding my electronic payment to them. While they got my money, they claim I did not place an order with them (????) How wierd is that? I am torn between e-mailing them back and telling them I want the white Furla Farrah bag OR just letting it go for now (the money is on hold in my PayPal account).

I guess it's just not in the cards for me to get a white slouchy bag.

Yes. I am now motivated to take some photos and fill out the endless forms in order to eBay things I no longer need or want. I just hope a similar bag will come up within the next year. I think those shell bags are relatively rare.

I have also decided that I will commit to spending 15% of my net earnings as part of a clothes and purse budget. So please let me know of anyone you know who wants to buy or sell a house!

No shopping for bags till 2007! Wow, not sure I can do that, but sometimes we have to restrain ourselves from giving in to our every dying indulgence. I always say, oh just these two bags and then I'm done, but it's never like that. I've stopped myself from buying expensive bags many times and it is gratifying to say no sometimes. However, on that note, I do have to admit that I'm really liking two MJ bags...Stam and Blake...and I want both. But I'll probably sleep on it and realize that I don't need any of them. But this blog helps to vent and discuss my purse desires and thoughts because not too many I come in contact every day share my passion...

Aww.. coco, you're a lot stronger than I would have been ! I think that was a very mature decision, and it'll motivate you to get things done.

The shell bag is almost like a piece of art though, it's rather spectacular looking !

I agree. You showed so much self-discipline! I do think that we have to remind ourselves that these are only *things*, when it comes right down to it. Sometimes, it's just so hard to say no, though!
