part of the charm of this leather is the wonderful patina it developes in wear, so don't worry about markings on it. I leave mine alone

I have a few scratches on mine as well. They are not deep gashes or anything, but the patina and light scratches help the bag look more mature vs. brand new. I have a brand new rouge H box that I love, but wish it were already 10 yrs old!:p To me, it's like a nice comfy worn in pair of jeans.

Claude in NYC told me about 2 months or so ago that using Meltonia neutral polish was good when I asked him about my box Kelly. He also pointed to my potiron clemence Kelly and said it would be fine to use it on Clemence too. He was pretty lax about the use of Meltonian. He has tons of it scattered across his station.

Well, I'm very pleased with the Leather CPR results! The marks are still there, but they blend into the leather now so they aren't so obvious. It only needed two good coats to do the job.

I personally don't care for the worn in/beaten look myself, at least not on what for me, is a new bag. Hey, we're all different on this point! This is a nice compromise for me and I can't see that lanolin would ever bad for leather. ;)
