I've been looking for an affordable alternative for this - I've died over it since Sarah Michelle Gellar wore it last year. Anyhoo, found this at DJpremium. It's a pretty good inspiration for a fraction of the price

such a nice necklace, i think it has a victorian look to it rather than goth which you said. ha ha ha, i'm not very fond of things that are gothish and i had this long black velvet skirt that looked kind of 'gothish' and my DBF said that it looked, gothish but it looked like an intelligent/sophisticated goth.....i'm still scratchin my head on this one. i think it would totally make your black suit more fun and outstanding. Awww, too bad it's sold out on their website.

$9.99????

I went to two Target stores today. The first one wassold out, but they had a bracelet like it and the second one only had one necklace left.... it was $16.99.

Well, I got the necklace and I think I could easily make this. After exams, I'm going to give it a try.

Also, I'd love a modeling picture so I can see how large it actually is :)

Here's mine....

This thread re-ignited my obsession with the Lanvin satin/pearl necklace. I had a little free time so I made one myself. Not perfect....but also not $865.

Can you please post some brief instructions? I would love to know how to make this. Do you pierce the ribbon with the string that the pearls are strung on? How do you finish off the pearl strand and make it flow seamlessly into the ribbon? Thank you in advance!

Essentially I just sewed it along the ribbon loosely, and then pulled the ribbon down the thread to create gathers, around the pearls. I sewed back through the pearl at the beginning and end to finish it, and then knotted the satin.

HTH.
