It's the new Barenia leather which has more of a grain than the original Barenia which was quite smooth in appearance. They call it Barenia Faubourg...

Barenia is a more expensive leather. My bag was $13100 USD pre-tax. With the foreign exchange rate, that's even more. Sigh. The price we pay for beauty !
