Thank you all for the responses! TPF never disappoints! I’m going to use my flap bag this week.

When I went for the lambskin flap I was nervous about it even walking out of the store. I just need to get over it!

Do you all “wrap up” your lambskin bags after each use? (Like wrap the handle, put the felt over the flaps, etc)

Chain inside so there's no accidental imprint. Just dust bag. Never seal in a box, always ventilate (otherwise mould could grow).

I prefer nongrained leather so half of my bags are lambskin and the other some permutation of smooth calfskin. I store the ones for the season naked (no dust bag) and upright, chains draped on the bag. So far no dents, except one time where the chain from the bag in front dented a corner of the front flap on a lambskin CF, but it the dent had puffed back out when I rotated the bag back in half a year later.

Chanel lambskin isn’t as fragile as some people say. I have a lambskin trendy cc in white, and I’ve used that one a dozen times over the summer and it’s still absolutely pristine.

I got a black lambskin flap bag over a year ago and have only managed to use it two times so far and both those times were just out to dinner! I’ve been so nervous about using it because of how fragile the leather is. I need some real world advice. How crazy do I actually need to be? Can anyone share how they use their lambskin bag regularly and it’s held up great? Is that possible?
I love lambskin and I definitely don't baby it. The only thing that tends to get scratched up is the inside (where keys and stuff hit the underside of the flap)- but it is more resilient than you think. I was stuck somewhere and had to walk home in the rain - a good 15 minutes- with my lambskin WOC--and after wiping it down when I got home, it looked as good as new. Don't be afraid of lambskin--just enjoy it.

I have a lambskin flap and I haven’t found it to be as fragile as some have described! Of course, my caviar have lasted much better and my lamb has a few noticeable scratches.. but they don’t look bad if that makes sense. I still think the bag is gorgeous. I went through a phase where I only wore my caviar for fear of destorying the lambskin, but I’ve become such a big lambskin fan recently when I decided to break it out more and not worry. I plan to add more lambskin to my collection but will have to be pre-loved at this point.
