In my son’s class, the only ones who made it were athletes.
My son who is not a scholar by any means, noticed that their grades were good but not extraordinary.
As far as Aoki, besides her names, she has to be invested in her studies as she double majored, not a dummy move in my experience.
I think she is rebelling from her academic years and now she just wants to have fun and pursue fashion. I found a rather long article from last summer which explains her mindset these days. (At the time of the interview she had a boyfriend her own age.)

someone posted that Russell needs to call her and check on her to which he replied that he calls them both everyday. Now maybe it’s just the Leo in me but “calling” someone is not the same as talking to them! I know double talk when I hear it. and from what she’s said about him I don’t believe him. She had to have some kind of clue. Her degrees are in classics and government. That screams staying within the academia arena but who knows. Maybe she promised her parents she’d get the education but she didn’t say anything about using it.
she has made several statements about it so him trying to act like the wonderful father who cares and is always there is just for the internet. people are not buying it after knowing what she has said.

“I went to the library just to, like, stare at the wall, because every single day I’d go to the library… and I was like, ‘I guess I’ll just do that again, even though I have nothing to study for,'” she shared.
