Don't quit your day jobs! Kendall and Kylie Jenner's sci-fi novel is a flop as it sells just 13,000 copies since June release

They have branched their reality show stardom off into more entrepreneurial endeavors.
But Kendall and Kylie Jenner's latest venture hasn't exactly worked out.
The two teenage Keeping Up With The Kardashians stars released a book titled Rebels: City Of Indra: The Story Of Lex And Livia in June and the sales numbers have not been good.
According to data from the Nielsen BookScan obtained by Radar Online, the sci-fi novel has sold a mere 13,000 copies since its release.
In comparison, fellow reality star Lauren Conrad's two novels sold close to 500,000 copies in about a year after publication.
The dystopian sci-fi novel has not done well despite Kendall, 18, and 17-year-old Kylie promoting it with book signings in New York and Los Angeles and even an appearance on talk show The Talk in June.
Not only is the novel a flop when it comes to sales, but it also has not been received well critically as it currently sits at two-out-of-five stars with 141 reviews on Amazon.
Readers have lambasted the effort as one wrote the book was: 'Garbage from start to finish.
'Don't bother wasting your time or money on this piece of trash. The trees that died to make the paper for this book would have been better off as toilet paper.'
The book was actually penned by ghostwriter Maya Sloane, though the publishers claim it came 'from the minds of Kendall and Kylie.'
The author, who has also penned Rich Kids of Instagram: A Novel, spoke to the LA Times after receiving backlash on her collaboration for the youth-adult (YA) novel.
Maya said: 'People are going to want to say I'm a YA author now, but it's not like one day I can't write a literary novel — whatever literary means.
'As if there are these Greek gods dictating what literature is? None of the students I teach read — even the really smart ones. They read magazines and blogs; everything is becoming really visual.
'So I can talk to you about Tolstoy and I can talk to you about Divergent. I refuse the snobbery.'
Rebels: City Of Indra: The Story Of Lex And Livia is a futuristic dystopian story about two powerful girls who embark on a journey together.

See, I want to be able to…

1 -- make my nose smaller in profile, just by contouring.

2 -- make my lips plumper, in profile, just by over-lining.

The folks who believe volume/fullness can be created by over lining the lips simply baffle me. Try over lining your lips and see how It works out. Why would anyone bother w fillers if we can all have AJ lips by simply drawing them on? Lol.

Kylie's profile is beat up. She looks old at 16.

Ugly and old is stretching it a bit IMO. But are her looks being slowly ruined by the PS? Yes. And she's starting a lot earlier than the others in her family.

Seeing these women in their 40's is going to be a little frightening.

I went to an all-girls Catholic high school and when we were graduating I will never forget Sr. Mary Martina just talking to our class and saying her good-byes. One of the things that has always stuck with me is her telling us that we were all beautiful and that even if we didn't see it or think it, we all had our youth and that in and of itself was so, so beautiful and precious. When I see a girl like Kylie Jenner doing this to herself and making herself look so much older it makes me sad. These years go by so fast. She should be a fresh-faced teenager with the world at her feet but instead she's this injected, plastic, way, WAY overly made-up, sexualized commodity. I never thought I'd feel bad for her but I actually do.

Haha so true, no way is she just drawing those lips on. 40 cc of Juvaderm is what she gets, I asked my plastic surgeon for his opinion

Sage advice. So true.

If they would tell the truth, I could at least give them kudos for that. But when they deny it, like the public is comprised of morons such as themselves, and like we are all expected to believe that a human face (and/or body) evolves so rapidly on its own, by some spontaneous act of nature.....it makes me crazy. Joan Rivers (RIP) was refreshingly honest in this regard.
