You can detach both bags from the strap. The strap has several holes to choose from allowing different lengths and multiple options on how to use it - crossbody, regular length shoulder bag, belt bag, clutch on its own, etc. It's a very versatile and functional bag.

I wondering if you can use the small Kelly pocket on the strap as a belt bag since you can remove it. Perhaps sliding that onto a Kelly Belt or the 13mm or 24mm.
Yes you can slide the little Kelly on the Kelly belt. I haven’t tried because the plaque is a bit thick but the 13” wide can easily fit.
That's great! It's like a 2 in 1 at that point. Especially if you just want to go out, run errands, hands free. Still got the little pouch for your house keys or little things like earbuds!
