Kelly Cut Discontinued?

I’ve been hearing/reading on social media that the Kelly Cut is being discontinued. Anyone know if this is true or just rumors?

I asked about it last year (around Mar/Apr) and my SA did indicate that she hadn't seen one in 2 years or so. Prior to that, I had heard some whisperings of it being discontinued as well. So I basically mentally crossed it off my list.
So when it arrived in-store late November, my SA was shocked and so was I; definitely was not processing that it was right in front of me. But it may very likely be what @aa_ said about low production due to popularity.

This is so odd to me as I'd think the Kelly Cut is even more relevant now that the East-West style is coming back. Other brands have released Kelly Cut-esque items (like the Bottega Andiamo Clutch) in recent seasons.

I just saw someone unboxing it on sm and was struck with how similar (but also not?) it was to the KC.
I did like BV in the Tomas Maier era and this look reminds me more of that, but not sure how the leather is like nowadays. I'm just drawn to that shape (much more than the shorter Pochette).

I have the Kelly longue clutch (so obviously not the same size but very similar). It perfection. Fits all of my essentials and I also own the Andiamo clutch. I love wearing both casually and dressed up. If I had the opportunity to add a Kelly cut I would snatch it up in a second. I also find it odd that they’re not producing the Kelly cut as much. The bag seems extremely relevant to me

Kelly Cut is used to be designed to replace the discontinued Kelly Longue. I would say now Kelly Elan is similar size and look to kelly longue without the strap. Would love to get one though but they are now close to or the same price as k25 retourne 😬

I’m also toying with the idea of a Kelly Elan, however, because it doesn’t have a top handle, I find it to be a little restrictive on how it can be worn. It’s a shoulder bag or an under arm clutch, which isn’t always very practical. Plus the price point is a bit of an issue as well. But, I can see how this could eventually replace the Kelly Cut altogether.

Always best just to ask one’s SA if the store ordered any at podium recently.
