~ Kelly 28 in Clemence: can I control the slouch?

Hi ladies!

My ultimate wishlist item for this year is a Kelly in size 28. I have the opportunity to purchase one in the same color / hw that I want but in Clemence leather. All of my Birkins are Togo, which I specifically ask for in all of my bags because I like them to hold their shape and I really don't like the 'slouchy' look.

So I know that Clemence is softer and will definitely slouch over time but my question is: can I control the slouch with, say, a stiff bag insert? or carrying fewer things? The bag is Retourne too which is exactly what I was looking for. Its just the leather type that's worrying me.

I don't exactly mind the softer look but I want the bag to be able to stand up by itself and not fall over, KWIM?

In a 28 Kelly the slouch should not be too bad. Definitely use an insert/bag pillow, store on its back, and don't overload it. Clemence is a beautiful leather.

I have a kelly 28 in clemence leather l just over 1year.
She is my on-the-go bag nearly every weekend except rainny day. She is still looks like new!!! Love this leather!

seconding the suggestion to keep the pillow / insert in while storing and to not overload while using it. I have a k28 clemence (bought it in 2011) and it's still keeping its beautiful shape.

Yes, lay it down flat to rest it. My Clemence Bolide is now a chocolate puddle with handles!

I have found clemence not much more likely to soften over the years than togo. I think this will be especially true in the smaller size 28.

I have a Gris Tourtelle in clemence from around 4 years ago and she still looks like new, I remember when my SA offered her to me and I was a bit worried about the slouch bit 4 years later and still looks the same as the day I brought her home, I love clemence leather as it seems thicker than Togo, I have several Togo Birkins as well as Epsom and Box and I can honestly say I don't find clemence much different to Togo

No ive never used a bag insert in any of my bags, when I'm not using the bag I store it in the box laying flat so maybe that's helped with stopping it sagging, maybe a Birkin in clemence might sag more because it doesn't have the flap that seems to keep the bag rigid if you know what I mean.

I have an etain B 35 in Clemence. I use samorga felt bag insert which is not rigid so as to harm it but also helps maintain my B's structure! I store it lying down in its dustbag with the insert inside the bag and I have no issues with it being slouchy. It's been a year and a half since I got it. I love Clemence and how buttery it is [emoji173]️[emoji173]️

Thank you, eternallove4bag! I am also fond of the Samorga inserts and use them in my Birkins. I will most likely order one in a size that fits the K28 too
