Any opinions on the 'California Girls' (I refuse to purposefully mis-spell it!) video? I thought the whole Candyland thing was a cute concept, but the cupcake and whip cream spraying bras were a tad weird to me!

I watched the episode where two girls won a prize to spend the whole day with Katy. She was SO down to earth and super funny. She's great!!

I liked the video. It was kind of like her version of Candy Land.

I'm guessing the idea came from the line, "Sun kissed skin so hot we'll melt your popsicle . . . "

The thing I find interesting about her is that whenever she performs at an event she almost never receives any attention. She has gotta work on that because her look is anything but bland.

Sorry if this has already been discussed but I would love your opinion.
Is anyone offended by her lyrics that can be interpreted as anti-homosexual?
examples:

It's not what good girls do
Not how they should behave
(I kissed a girl)

You're so gay and you don't even like boys (using gay as an insult)

A friend draw this to my attention and I have to say I'm rather surprised there hasn't been more criticism on this.

Do you agree? Or do I misinterpret?

ehh...I dunno. I don't think it's anti-homosexual. I think that she just was brought up differently than some and still has boundaries with the whole issue of sexuality. She's experimenting with different views.

^ There's been criticism, I don't think here, but elsewhere, and Katy's just an absent minded spaz (I dig a few songs and find her existence favourable, though) and I honestly think that's the market she's in for with those songs.

It's for kids who will go are used to words being used that way, and those concepts.

I'm not being clear, but it hasn't gone unoticed by the public at large.

I thought I had Katy figured out, and actually liked her a little more UNTIL I heard her say that she thought she was more like Taylor Swift in her role as a musician.

THAT made me look at her sideways, because WHAAAAT? Do you know who you are Katy Perry?

So that, coupled with the inadvertent homophobia issue, and the remarks about Gaga she's made, ...

I genuinely find her suspect. But her big-breasted, shock-jock, dance/car-driving music makin' ass is fine enough to be spared my wrath. She doesn't know better.
