I went searching through my emails to make sure I'd read them correctly or if I had possibly misunderstood them. The first correspondence:

Do your sunglasses provide UVA, UVB, and UVC protection?
we are so excited to hear you are interested in our sunglasses. unfortunately, the sunglasses do not have UV protection. we apologize for any disappointments this has caused you.

After all the discussion here (and brae's research!), I looked online and saw that some websites (the ones that are authorized KS retailers like piperlime, zappos, and endless) said that the KS sunglasses they sell do in fact have UV protection. I considered what you had found out and thought maybe only the ones NOT shipped from their warehouse have UV protection so I contacted KS customer service again in hopes of clarifying if only certain models or perhaps certain vendors sell sunglasses with UV protection:
I saw that the Franca 2 sunglasses available at Zappos say they have UV protection. Is it only certain models of your sunglasses that have UV protection? Is there a way to easily tell which ones have UV protection? I bought the Franca (not the Franca 2) before my previous email and am hesitant to wear them if they have no UV protection.
we apologize for the confusion you have experienced determining the uv protection of our sunglasses, however we do not offer uv protection on any of our sunglasses. if you have any other questions of concerns please contact us back by email or by phone at 866-999-5283 for assistance. for your convenience, we are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

They're pretty insistent that NONE of their sunglasses have any UV protection, so I wonder why they aren't giving me the same information that you got when you called them. I'm confused and frustrated. We shouldn't be getting conflicting information from different websites or different customer service reps. It's a pretty straightforward question!

I am so glad I read this thread before buying a pair. That is just so crazy... almost all the major brands certainly have UV protection and why would they even make sunglasses if they don't accomplish their purpose... like, what in the world?

oh no! I just bought a pair I love not that long ago....didn't even think to check on UV protection
This thread is so old now. I would be amazed if they didn't have UV protection, but then again I was baffled back in 2013. But like I did back then, an optiomologist should be able to check if they have UV protection!
