Hello Birkinistas,

Please inspire and encourage those looking for the elusive Birkin bag with your stories of just walking into a Hermes store and finding a Birkin!!!:yahoo::yahoo:

I read a thread few weeks ago of a lady who found THE ONE in Paris.
I enjoyed her story and would enjoy yours too..

Isetan Shinjuku Hermes Store

I was feeling rather down due to some personal matters, so I decided to pop by Hermes (with no hopes up of course) to get some cute SLGs, but 'there it was!!', an Orange Epsom 30B staring straight back at me and calling my name, and my spirits took an upward turn right after I bagged the orange sweetie home :yahoo:

I've done it a few times at the Madison Ave store and twice in Beverly Hills. It is possible. Last time I was in Paris (about a month ago) I was able to walk away with my dream bag they just happened to have which was a totally random thing I would have never expected. I think if you're not too specific about what you want and you're willing to take any Birkin, you can definitely find one this way and sometimes like me, you might find your dream bag just sitting and waiting for you!

walked in to FSH on the saturday that just passed..BDP 40cm birkin , black and gold 30cm birkin were available.. but alas am after a 35cm so i had to pass.. i did get something else though! "wink"

Well I walked into FSH about 20 months ago.... lol, all the way from Australia and even tho I had to walk in there many times in 3 days I walked out with my beautiful raisin with phw. I was offered other bags during the 3 days, but they were colors that just didn't do it for me. I was really after a black with ghw and they did offer me one in 40 but I thought it was too big so I passed. Not sorry. Love my raisin :love:

Great thread.....I hope you don't mind that I post about a Kelly instead of a Birkin. I had told my SA I wanted a 28 BBK w/ GHW and was hoping to hear back from her sometime in the near future.
One morning I just popped in and she was on vacation. I was picking out some SLGs with another SA, when I looked in the very small display case in my local store and there she was......just waiting for me. I was so excited.....she is still my favorite bag.

It wasn't off the shelf, but in the backroom shelf @ South Park Mall in Charlotte, NC waiting for me. Black Togo w/GHW 30cm.

It was my first official H trip inquiring about birkin. I was shown a Rouge H Kelly, but pass on it. I told the SA exactly what I want before I left, didn't expect anything anytime soon. While I had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory, my SA called and said that they've just received a shipment in and there is "surprise" bag that she would like me to see. It was love at first sight. :cloud9: Although I originally asked for PHW, as soon as I saw the shining GHW, I knew it's coming home with me. :D

Well, my HG dream bag wasn't on the shelf, but it happened to be in the Chicago Boutique January 2009. I had never shopped there before, but went in to look at scarves, ended up choosing a couple, and the SA working with me ASKED me if there was any bag I was looking for. He said that they had gotten some things just in and a few were very special.
I told him about the etoupe crinoline 35 birkin that I was lusting over, having seen a 30 in Japan, and he said that they had just gotten one in! That the manager for the store had ordered it three years previously FOR the store (not for a particular individual).
I couldn't believe it and walked out with that bag, which might just be my very favorite Hermes bag, ever. And this was my first encounter with that boutique. A truly amazing day.

Twice now I've walked into SF and got dream bags. My first was a 35 green birkin and the 2nd the limited edition so black 35 box kelly.
On Saturday 3/5, I was with a friend who scored a 35 birkin in rubis. It was sitting on the shelf.
Don't we just love happy ending stories.

Thank you all for your stories... I can just imagine the excitement on finding one or being offered one from the back and the jubilation on getting to take it home!!!

I have become a believer!!!

i have to add to my madison NYC experience tho. at the back was a 35 black ghw and a gris t 35 phw. when i went back for the black it was gone. but i;m mighty happy with my choc tho.

I too was lucky at the Madison store in January 2009. After visiting the store 3 days in a row, I asked one more time (on the way to the airport) if they had a 35 Etoupe Birkin. The lovely SA said she would check and came out a few minutes later with it!!! I was beyond thrilled.
