Need more Kelly bags!

Hi everyone!

I'm debating whether I should keep my classic Jumbo or not. I haven't used it in years, it's not the size for me (too heavy). Although, it's a beautiful bag and I've really really wanted it for a long time. I'm afraid I might reconsider the size/weight issue in the future and regret letting her go.

Reasons why I'd keep it:
  1. It's beautiful and I actually like it even if I'm not using it
  2. I'm afraid I'll change my mind in the future, I don't want regrets.
  3. The price keeps increasing and I might not be able to buy it back
Reasons why I'd sell it:
  1. I'd use the money to partially fund a Kelly which I'm sure I'd get a lot more use out of
  2. I hate seeing bags (money) sitting in my closet
  3. I haven't used it in two years

Let me know your thoughts!

Well from what you have stated, I think you should sell it. You stated that it’s not the right size for you which would mean that you probably don’t use it because of the size. I would sell it and downsize to a m/l. I wouldn’t worry about the future cost and use that as a reason to justify keeping it. HTH!

I have bought and sold a black jumbo twice! My first was lambskin. I sold it thinking I’d wear it more if it were caviar and then when I got the caviar, I didn’t wear it much either. The only thing it looked good with was heavy winter coats and I never wore it in the summer as I have such a small frame. I sold that one too and never looked back. I will say though that the jumbos were difficult to sell in comparison to the M/L.

If I were in your shoes, I think I would keep the jumbo for sentimental reasons and since it’s a classic bag. The classic flaps are getting more and more expensive each year that I might regret it later on if I let it go. I would, however, consider selling a few of my seasonal Chanel bags to fund a Kelly.

But realistically, if you don’t use it, then it might be better to let it go. I do hope that you get to sell the jumbo for at least the same price you got it for or maybe even more.

I would submit for a quote in fashionfile and then decide. Are you thinking of selling to fashionfile or know someone?
I would sell and buy medium Chanel in caviar right away.
Actually, I am in similar city around. I bought jumbo lambskin in 2019 from 19C and never used it, not even once.
I am also considering maybe selling but depends how much we are offered, right...

if it’s at loss, I would not sell it.
