While the consensus is that the old version is more secure, there was once my bracelet was accidentally unlocked - but it's an unusual circumstance. I was getting out of a cab and my shoulder bag's strap pressed on the closure. My bag was quite heavy and it was enough to cause the bracelet to open. Luckily I managed to catch it before it fell off my arm.

That looks like an authentic Cartier JUC but I can not guarantee since I am NOT an authorized authenticator. The closure is not one I have seen as it is a push to open where it inserts into the back of the head. You may want to wait for replies from people who have the old closure with diamonds. Mines is plain and I do not have to push a tab to open the JUC. I have to open/close by physically pushing the gold end into the back of the head. Hope that makes sense.
I do have the old closure. But OP wanted to compare with old vs new closure. I think they wanted the old closure.
