JUC closure old vs new

General consensus is that the old mechanism is more secure. Some people even have difficulty opening it on their own. With that said, I’ve had my new mechanism JUC for a year and never had any issue with it popping open. Hinge is still super tight as well.
I just posted about this, with some links, in another thread today so I’ll refer to that post here! I have an older mechanism (2016) and wouldn’t want to trade it for a new one.

Lowermost Juc ( with clash) is 16 and the rest size 17. Classic and thin 4 diamond / thin pave all 18 I could do JUC 16 and love 17 but I have 2 daughters - 23 and 17 and have bigger wrists than mine... so went bigger ! Can I ask what size JUC you purchased and if it has a lot of movement...

I have the old closing version and find it way easy to open and close! I was told they changed it to now closing system bcuz people were complaining on how difficult it was to open and close. I have seen how the now version opens and closes and feel it is not secure as in time the metal will wear down by rubbing constantly to open and close IMO! But I am no expert on that since that is my opinion and I know that in time metal rubbing against metal wears down in time. Plus the now version I feel is not so secure due to that if someone was to yank your arm that the bracelet is on, it could easily snap open or worse get damaged in the process. Hope that helps!

Love my old closure I’ve worn it for 5 years or so with no issues 
I know right? I would see the opportunity to source an old-closure JUC as an opportunity, so long as you are satisfied with its condition and authenticity. Let us know what you decide…would love to see pics!
seller said excellent condition from the year 2015 for $6800. is this price acceptable? i am new to this and not sure
I don’t know much about assessing prices, but perhaps you could try looking at sites like Fashionphile that sell preloved to get a sense of the market?
I waited for years to get my Juc’s because i specifically wanted the old closing mechanism. So many horror stories with the new one… I don’t have any issues removing mine, but it does take a few days to master it. It feels incredibly secure
That is a fair price, but I would ask for pics of the bracelet in good lighting, pics of the Cartier engravings and markings, pics of the original receipt or authenticity card, ask if they still have the box too. Hope that helps. Thanks
When I was shopping for my JUC several years back, I specifically sought out the old closure mechanism. I had compared both side by side and to me the old mechanism seemed much more secure. The day I was purchasing, I was able to choose between the old vs new closure and even hubby agreed with me on the closure. I wear mine 24/7 so removing it is not really an issue for me.
I don’t understand why people ask for a change on the mechanism just because the old one was a little tricky BUT a lot more secure than the actual one.
It is not even tricky, it just requires a little strength
