Jubilations! Reunited with my Long Lost Jade Baby

I know it’s been forever since you posted this, but it popped up in my search on horsebit chain bags (I just acquired one and am obsessed). I’m not super TPF post savvy, so apologies if this should’ve been a pm (I didn’t want to overstep).

I think it’s fab’ you found this missing treasure! Is there by chance a horse bit chain club (or category it falls within)? I’ve searched the clubhouse to connect with fellow fans without luck.

You’ve been good enough to share knowledge of this bag with me & had mentioned owning a couple; I’m tickled to be in such good company. I just fell in love with this style and may have to find a full leather version in the future...

Not at all, glad to be of some help. We don't have a Horse-bit Chain Club but they were more 2003-6ish and tPF is more 2006 onwards though the blog did an article in 2005 on the H-b C https://www.purseblog.com/hobos/gucci-large-horsebit-hobo-jessica-simpson/.

It was the prob the first bag I ever went gaga over even tough I was already at uni. I just wanted crazy for them. They starred on the catwalk and the campaigns 2003. Frida Giannini designed them under Tom Ford as CD. She had worked for Fendi and designed the famous Baguette bag and the Horse-bit was her 'hit' for Gucci.

Somewhere I was thinking of the number 5 but can only recall 4 I own in detail, (if I remember '5' I'll add). I think the Horse-bit Chain line was very popular and came in so many interesting variations but it was the H-b hobo that was the huge 'it' bag of the day.

I have
Large black Horse-bit Chain convertible clutch (day to evening) as above
Med Tabaco Horse-bit Chain Hobo (suede lined, totally divine)
Med ltd ed Jade H-b C Shoulder bag
Small beige H-b C Shoulder bag

All of the above are all-leather (a kind of stamped leather) but they also came in canvas, fur, silk and all manner of other materials. For Gucci 90 Birthday FG revived the med convertible clutch for a limited period.

Thoroughly enjoy learning the backstory of bags that have stolen my heart! The h-b chain convertible clutch caught my eye, but my equestrian lifestyle is pretty casual and chain bags (though absolutely beautiful) say evening/gala wear to me. Your jade limited edition is show stopper!
I’ve just recently turned my attention to premium handbags after collecting silk scarves for years (though I’m keeping it to preloved market)... it’s a guilty pleasure that no one I know shares, so I’m just loving connecting with other enthusiasts - and am in awe of the experts that have been immersed in each brand.

Welcome and please share your scarves with us if any just happen to be Gucci ;) Somewhere we have a thread devoted to them.

Thank you for being so kind. My collection is mostly 35” Hermes, RalphLauren and Julie Wear (an equestrian artist), though after my Gucci bag purchase I have my eye on one or two of those,too... lol! (Though I have no idea about authentic care tags, etc.- more to research)

Most of my collection is Hermes too tbh . Plenty of like-minded h scarf collectors on the Hermes forum that would welcome you with open arms. I must check out Julie Wear!

You might only find Julie’s paintings (she does mostly throrougbreds now and has painted for the Queen) & gorgeous dinnerware. She only did about 4 scarf designs (in multiple color ways) as a whim 10-15yrs or so ago. She’s actually the one who started my premium scarf collection & sparked my desire for Hermes. If you have no luck finding them, but still wanna see, I can take pictures & post somewhere appropriate.

OK. Maybe start a thread to show off your Julie scarves on Accessories and Wardrobe. I'm sure I'm not the only person who'd like to see them.

I did it! My first thread here...
I’m not 100% that it’s in the right spot, but I searched the Wardrobe and couldn’t find anything accessories specific.
I also tried to find the 90mm carre post in the Hermes forum, but only found a 3pg thread on vintage scarves that died over 2y/o. Any chance you could post a link for me, or tag me to help me navigate?
I named my thread “Julie Wear silk scarf showcase” and tried to tag you, but not positive it worked.
Have a great night. ;)

Don't worry I'll check it out.

In the Hermes Clubhouse there's a thread called 'vintage' something but I think it's about vintage-style 70cm scarves.

You should start a thread about OLD H scarves if yours are vintage. Let me know if you can't and I'll start it for you (except then it will have my name first)
