Hi, stumbled across the site and they had a bag that I have been lusting after for some time (it's from an older collection and mine was a Harvey victim aka the dog who eats bags) and couldn't get anywhere else, the pricing was super reasonable (I first thought almost too good to be true so paid with credit card just in case) but it arrived quite fast, they kept me updated with mails as to when they got it, when they sent it one, the bag was listed as good, so I expected some signs of wear but it was totally pristine. Could have been just sheer luck and a really good seller, however since I am getting rid of a ton of things, I was wondering if anybody has any experience with them as a seller? Even consignment is super reasonable at 25% if they handle it all, 15% if you list yourself, I am just always a bit careful when it comes to giving items into consignment as some sites totally knock the prices to next to nothing, so would be quite interested if anybody has sold through them and how they are from the side of the seller. If they have the audience, etc as I never heard of them before and only found them through searching for a specific bag while being bedridden. I mean ever the greatest conditions don't really help you if there are no buyers or nobody knows the site.

I don't want to praise them too early, as it could have been just a lucky dip with a fab seller, but from my understanding, they are quite new and pretty eager to give VC a run for their money, which would be fab as they really have annoyed me so much that I consider closing the account, and Rebelle's webpage has turned into a total headache. I have no idea how they manage to really eff everything up so much

Disclaimer: Never bought or sold through them

But my reply isn't totally pointless, I saw the name on a few fashion blogs, apparently they split off from the big company (they didn't mention names but it sounded like somebody who used to work for VC and left quite unhappy) as they thought there was too much focus on profit and that they thought it was wrong that the company they worked for spent too much on advertising while underpaying staff and making them rush through the verification process, which would also explain why things seem to go wrong with the VC quality checks as the staff has a certain amount of items and there is a lot of pressure to make the quota.

Their philosophy sounded quite good, that by having a lower commission, they enable sellers to sell at more competitive prices, which they think will attract buyers. They are mainly French centric but ship throughout Europe and I think even overseas, which might explain why people outside France haven't heard of them. I really liked their very aggressive stance regarding fakes, they will not destroy fakes but hand them over to the police with the information of the person trying to sell them and people who sell fakes have the account suspended, sellers are also required to respond and ship within 48 hours, to avoid delays and to verify their own identity. I think they guarantee that you get your item within 4 weeks latest, offer returns in some cases but attach security labels to avoid people "borrowing" items for occasions and then returning.

It all sounded very good and I think they could become a big player if they keep up the quality standards and invest more into advertising. It's strange because when I googled "2nd hand designer clothes" I got 2 pages of VC and Joli wasn't even mentioned, so their website is possibly not linked with search engines, which could be a massive hurdle in their way... They also have a store in Paris, which seems to be their main focus, the website is only in addition.

French bloggers really seem to like them, as I said, no personal experience, just having a rather complicated pregnancy and spend most of my time on the iPad reading fashion blogs and such.

Thank you, makes a lot of sense, as I said only experienced them as a buyer but it was amazing, I had a few questions as the serial number was not clearly visible, they responded almost immediately and told me they have the serial number and have checked it but for security purposes do not want to flash it.

Since I am a bit hampered at the moment (arm in a sling due to shoulder surgery) I might drag some items over from VC and Rebelle and give them a try, since their commission is so low, totally happy to take that into account, if the items sell, great, if not nothing lost.

Quite a nice surprise that they don't treat you like the other pages where you got the feeling that you should thank them for spending money with the or they selling your item for a massive cut. I googled a bit, they have social media sites but aren't very active there, but found the shop in Paris and that looks like totally worth a visit, in quite a good area too.

I saw this post when I was searching the web, I had previously sold and bought from Rebelle as a friend recommended them and I simply couldn't deal with the price dumping and erratic service of Vestaire, I am so happy to read this post because I had so many problems with them, and when I checked with the friend who recommended them, she also said the last few months it has totally gone downhill.

First of all the website is super problematic, the pictures load up randomly, then often the measurements do not upload, so you end up with the pictures showing an item from the back, sometimes pictures get rejected and they claim you need to use a white doll, while there are tons of pictures up of people using differently coloured dolls to show the pictures. I had items rejected where they claimed they couldn't verify them despite sending the shop receipts along, items were returned but not shop receipts and all the labels were in place. My friend had stuff returned with some unspecified didn't pass quality inspection despite the item being new, if you write to them, you get a pre formated email, the last straw was an item they returned that they did claim had stains, when I opened it, I checked it thoroughly, there were no stains, I just packaged it securely and some of piece of the tissue paper was clinging to the suede.

On another site, people complain that items are ordered and then cancelled and then Rebelle asks if they should keep and store it, if you agree, be aware that they charge the higher rates as if you sell via their consignment page, despite using your pictures and description.

I'm totally done with them, I am really glad there is another site out there and hope they take the business of Rebelle and VC, because those sites are just cashing it in, try to force you to dump the price to nothing and even then you get offers that are lower than you expect them on eBay. Lately Rebelle started something where they claim to give the approximate price of the item new, I wonder where they shop and where you can get the items so cheap? So hardly surprising that people really lowball even more.

I seriously do not mind a site charging commission for quality control and making sure the items are authentic, but charging through the nose while not offering a service, that I do mind.

I am not happy at the moment with Jolie Closet:
I ordered a hermes mors ring and the description says it is silver - you guess, it is not silver, it is golden.
They did not respond to any mail I wrote them the last three days ("we will answer in a few hours") and the phone number is never available, you can leave a message but they do not call back.
What a way to start!

I. Do. Not. Like. This.

That is odd, usually they always replied within a few hours but I noticed that the uploads until they go live take a bit longer, have you checked the spam folder? Because once I didn't get a message that I sold something, the email somehow got lost, and they sent an SMS.

The phone number also worked fine for me, have tried contacting them with a direct email or only via the system?

Which one is it? I just looked through their sold items and can't see a silver one at all? Usually you see all the sold items

Nothing in the spam folder an no one one the phone all day... :/

Just seems to be so unusual for them, they tend to be very proactive, the emails are sometimes quite late, but so far they always responded because I was a right idiot when I started to list and had no idea how things worked

Thanks for the link to it, that is a bit weird, description says the colour is silver, pictures show a golden item... I would have asked because it honestly doesn't look silvery at all, in the pictures it looks more gold

Well, when they write silver and the pic is a cut out so you can't see the surroundings of the item you can't say what the metallcolour is.
On my screen it did not look like gold. Once that I know it is gold it looks like gold, of corse.
But nevertheless it is not my fault.
