Aside from engagements (engagement ring), weddings (wedding band or jewelry to bride/groom), and births (push presents or jewelry gifts to children), what are some memorable (either due to family or culture or another reason) occasions in which you have received or given jewelry?

For example, my mom bought a necklace when she immigrated to the US so my husband bought me a necklace when we immigrated to Canada.

I’m wondering did you receive or give any jewelry when growing up and achieved a milestone? Were there any significant events in your life where you received or gave jewelry?

What did you get or give for graduation? I love the idea of a diamond solitaire post divorce!
I guess I accidentally deleted part of my text! For grad school graduation, I waited a year until my student loans were paid off and bought an Omega Constellation diamond watch with an 18k band. Sadly, I no longer have it.

I bought myself a Faberge egg pendant with my first bonus from my last promotion and I love it: it’s a marker of independence for me.

My husband and I will have been together 10 years next month and I’m pushing for a piece of jewellery to mark the occasion, but it won’t be anywhere near as expensive—he doesn’t see the value of jewellery, mores the pity!

I love those! Which one did you get? They're so beautiful and unique. You really don't see them everywhere.

I adore the one that opens to reveal the gold hen, but I can't justify buying it right now. I'm socking money away for a potential hone purchase.

I get my wife jewelry for the big anniversaries and birthdays and by big I mean basically every five years (so 5, 10, 15 year anniversaries, or 30th, 35th birthday etc.). Those are nice pieces, diamonds, rubies, sapphires, etc. Then I also get her nice jewelry for things like getting a new job, etc. I buy less expensive pieces just when I feel like it or I've seen her liking something.

They’re so beautiful aren’t they? I have the simple rose gold pendant. The budget didn’t stretch to the hen but I tried it on, it’s so intricate and beautiful!

It’s true, you don’t see many people wearing them, that’s partly what appealed to me.

The rose gold one is fabulous! There's a special chic-ness in its simplicity, and it's all about the elegant shape.
