Sigh:( why am i not buying jewelry lately and i have so many pieces i dont care to wear? And to top it all, i feel like selling them. Why don't i feel the same excitement and energy when i see jewelry? But i noticed that i also don't feel like shopping in general. I am not depressed. I have no serious problems. Am i just plain getting old?

If you live in the Northeast...that could be the problem. Snowmageddon!

I am feeling the same way.
I have tons of fine jewelry and it is getting to be a pain to store and select.
Too many pieces I have never worn or worn only once or twice.
I am done and I do regret buying so much jewelry.
But I am still shopping--though more carefully for designer bags. Almost done with that collection too.

My other screen name is Wisconsin(I have 2 email accounts)

I don't think there is anything wrong with how you feel. Reading this forum and obsessing over jewelry can become sort of like a sport. Perhaps it's a sign that you are developing other interests?

Hasn't the weather been just awful and depressing!
I go back and forth between jewelry and bags...it's become a sickness! I did start trading in old jewelry towards new jewelry, you take a hit but get rid of stuff you don't wear. Better than sitting in a safe/jewelry box. How much damn jewelry and bags can a person wear?
I'm TRYING to be done, too!!!

I think the weather definitely has impact right now. We had a lot of snow and down time for almost two full weeks here in North Carolina. It can definitely give you a taste of the blahs.
The impact for me with it is that I cut my hair two days ago into a pixie cut (from a mid length bob). It's like I wanted something to change and to feel different somehow. I'm glad I did it as I've been thinking about doing it for over a year and I think the feelings of blah had something to do with it.
You may be going through the same thing with your jewelry collection - a sense of blah maybe - and wanting to transform it somehow.

I find I am more into jewelry in the summer and scarves in the winter. I just want to be bundled up in the winter, so I want my neck and wrists and sometimes my ears covered. I haven't even been polishing my toenails because they are always covered. What's the point?

You may just be burned out by focusing so much on jewelry. It's hard to look at a lot of jewelry without getting overwhelmed. Take a break. Look at nature. Or scarves! Something not so detailed to cleanse your palate.

I think this is very insightful. Sometimes coming here and lusting after jewelry/bags/whatever is very exciting and I really enjoy it. Other times I feel that I have more important things to focus on in my life; spending time overthinking luxury items doesn't seem like time well spent. My enthusiasm for shopping sort of waxes and wanes along with my other interests and what is going on in my life.

I agree, this weather has been just awful and totally depressing. I love where I live but the roads are terrible. And all the bad weather just makes me feel worse! Thank goodness we are finally starting to thaw.

I am always rethinking and reworking my wardrobe and accessories - buying, selling, cultivating - yes, frequently I do take a hit, but then I put it towards the next thing, whatever is making my heart sing at the moment. AND it's like recycling! [emoji6]

I'm sorry it's so cold and depressing at the moment northern hemi girls!!! I'm sending you warm thoughts and sunshine from Australia :hugs: :flowers:

Speaking personally, I go through phases of contentment and phases of interest. I'll be super content with what I have and then a pair of diamond and emerald drop earrings will cross my path and I'll go full jewellery-hunter :ninja:  ;)

ITA. I take a break from the forum for a few months when I'm content and then return when I have a new obsession that I'm researching or just want to gaze at the eye candy and live vicariously through others and their purchases.
