Hmmm after viewing all of your beautifully organizes storage units I'm starting to think I need to revamp and reorganize! My everyday jewelry sits in a silver box near my perfumes and lotions... My other party jewels and some nice peices sit in a huge vintage wine box I found in my grandmothers attic

Hello my fellow jewelry aficionados. I have decided that in order to adequately appreciate, wear and care for my little collection of baubles I need a case to store everything in. I find I forget about things or find them jumbled in boxes. My nicest pieces are all in the cases they came in but that gets bulky and cumbersome. I would like something with a tray that has slots for rings, long dividers and little squares etc etc and underneath space for items stored in their little cases. So, something big enough to hold all or most of my jewelry but not a huge box. Maybe the size of a 13" laptop and maybe 6 to 8 inches tall. I would love to keep it in a dresser drawer. I am amenable to leather or wood. Any suggestions are most appreciated.:smile1:

I purchased some jewelry boxes a few years ago, which are lined with tarnish proof fabric. These are boxes that sell for $100 to $200 and up. I liked the organization of them and thought they would prevent tarnish on any silver pieces. That hasn't been the case, as pretty much everything silver stored in them has tarnished and needs polishing. Maybe the silver I do store in them is prone to tarnish regardless? Some others I have stored in plastic containers and they're still bright and shiny. Ideally, I want a beautiful, handmade, burlwood jewelry box or chest someday.

What type or brand of jewelry box do you use? Has it prevented tarnishing?

I bought the plastic tarnish inhibitor cases from container store. They have dividers that prevent tarnish and the boxes are fairly airtight. I was told the dividers won't prevent tarnish forever and will need to be replaced eventually. They sell packages of refills for the dividers.

My silver bracelets I keep in jewelry pouches inside an airtight plastic container, with a tarnish inhibiting divider tucked inside.

My gold and plated pieces which get a lot of use are in a small hinged umbra box which fits on my dresser and leaves a lot of room for me to work. There are 3 levels. I use one for white gold, one for yellow gold and one for rose gold.

There are miscellaneous pieces in other places. If I had room, I would get one of those 48" tall wall jewelry cabinets with the mirror on the front.

For daily jewelry planning, I have a few umbra T jewelry stands. I put one day's jewelry on one side of the stand, and another day's on the other side. Unfortunately I try to keep silver under wraps until the last minute to prevent tarnish. I may pull some pouches out so at least they are covered if they have to sit out for a few days after I planned the outfit.

I keep pics of my collection on my ipad so I can remember what I have, and so I don't have to bring out the silver to see what it will go best with.

Stackers are on sale right now at The Container Store, and free ship over $75. I first heard about them here in this thread. Ordered 5 pieces, plus 2 watch cushions, then threw in a small travel box to qualify for the $15 coupon for next purchase.

I'be collected quite a bit from my travels and like to keep everything in one easily accessible place so I bought this dresser a few years ago from Ikea and lined the smaller drawers with felt. The larger drawers have stacking/sliding bamboo compartments. The bottom drawer holds my boxed sets. It's just easier to keep those together.
