I guess it's normal, many of us must have felt the same way...I still remember that it took me several days of research on several forums to feel better about my solitaire. I feared that it was showing signs of obstruction :nogood:

Oh, I know how you must have felt! You think there's something wrong and should have chosen another ring.. but then it would be like that with any other ring!

Which rings do you have from Cartier? :)

It's a small 1895 solitaire (0,9 carat) with a thin pave band. It's very easy to wear and I'm confident I'll never grow tired of it, it's such a classic combo!

Do you have a picture of yours to share with us? I'm sure it's a beauty!

Yes, and I call the good lighting diamond lighting LOL. It is usually found in jewelry stores and some other places. I wish it were in my office at work although I would never get any work done. I also like my diamond in the sun before 10 a.m. and in my foyer where we have the recessed can lighting. :graucho:

Mine are Cartier as well and my diamond can look very different depending on the lighting.
Even worse - we have very hard water and I can sometimes see a build up under the stone....like a shadow in a certain angle. Yikes.
This inspires a lot of scrubbing on my part.

I've noticed home depot has the best lighting, it makes my yellow diamond look super sunny! now I just need excuses to go in there more often :p

Home Depot has some pretty incredible lighting, for sure. Whereas, my office at work, has pretty craptacular lighting. I like daylight and sunlight a lot, as well as halogen and some kinds of CFLs are not bad either. Whatever the hell is in my kitchen ceiling fan right now (some squiggly bulb) is amazeballs.

same here, my office lighting makes my skin look gray and my yellow diamond look beige....lovely

Ladies, I made a trip to Tiffany's yesterday (finally!) to look at some things and I really fell in love with the Victoria bracelet. The other jewellery (such as their classic engagement rings) looked fabulous as well. And everything SPARKLED like crazy!

Now, here's my question: does the Victoria bracelet look notably different in "normal" life lighting than in store lighting? I wonder if they have special lights to make everything look more beautiful.

Variant based on the lighting. It will be better in some, equal in others, worse in others. Just like any other nice diamond.

Thanks ame! Do you think that platinum tennis bracelets are fine for everyday wear? Or would it be likely to lose stones over time?

They should be fine for daily wear unless you're rough on your pieces. Make sure it has a good clasp and that you get it checked out frequently and get it insured.

I'm not too rough on my pieces, so I think it should be fine. I would, however, like the bracelet to fit rather tight. Bracelets that hang down on my wrist drive me nuts!!

Would it put too much strain on the prongs/the bracelet if I chose a tight fit (e.g. I have a 14 cm wrist and the bracelet should be 15 or 15.5 cm)?
