Wow I never actually watched the show. I remember the whole "chicken of the sea" thing but this makes it look like she was just acting like a brat. I mean if you are an adult why would you have your stuff spread all over your bedroom like that? She must have been told by the producers to do that. Any adult with common sense would realize that your old home didn't have all of your clothes on the floor they were in dressers and hung in the closet so it would stand to reason that you would have the same arrangement in your new home. Anyway I digress. 22 years is a hell of a thing .....
I used to watch the show when I was a reality TV junkie. She came across cute, funny, silly, a little slow, lazy and loved spending money. What I find interesting is the negative feedback Nick gets on socials when clips are shown. Ppl come after him hard in the comments. I never saw him as a bad guy in the marriage but maybe my perception will change if I ever rewatch that show like it did with Carrie when I saw all the seasons of SITC many years after it initially aired
I saw bits of it and thought Nick was a mature, normal-ish guy who was willing to fix things around the house... and Jessica was still young and silly.
I think the criticism is from the show pushing the narrative that he is great and level headed while she is a ding bat, while in reality it was her money that was paying for all of it, and him acting like she should be home cooking and cleaning while touring and promoting literally full time was ridiculous.
Good point! Plus his ego would not allow the audience to think he didn’t bring anything to the table. I did often wonder -like the clip above- it’s your money, if you want a housekeeper GET a housekeeper. Eventually she does so it was all part of the plot, I guess.
Well, one of them ended up with a billion dollar brand (even with a terrible addiction) and the other one is a … former boy band member?
He may be a former boy bander (who still performs) and a Netflix host, but at least he hasn't had problems with addictions (that we know of) and more importantly, he seems to have a happy marriage and family life.
I wonder if he thinks, I dodged a bullet there.

I thought that when they got married he was the breadwinner. His band was popular and she was a new artist. That was the big draw for the show is to get her more exposure. I don’t think that she would have been anywhere near as successful career wise if they didn’t do the show.
