Jersey/Satin Flap Bags: High Maintenance?

You might want to check out the Le Marais bags. They are a coated fabric and very pretty, but low maintenance. Great price too, the flap is $1295.00. They have a couple of other styles too in that line like an accordian style and a tote.
I find jersey bags easy to maintain. There's fabric cleaner that cleansers any grime away. Satin bags on the other hand would be hard to maintain.

I visited the Chanel boutique in Sydney yesterday. Although the handbag which I wanted was not available as yet, I did see a purple reissue made of jersey material. From afar, it looked alright, but when I looked at the bag more closely, I could see the surfaces of the bag 'pilling' i.e. formation of a furry texture due to the fine threads sticking out...the furry bits will probably form little fuzzballs in no time. It's such a sad thing to happen to such a lovely bag. This totally threw me off my decision about buying any Chanel jersey handbags. That reissue was put on display for perhaps one season at the very most. Goodness knows how the bag will look after a year or so! It's really not worth paying such an exorbitant price for a bag that will not hold up for even one season!
