What do you think of the (fake) jelly bags that are all over Instagram and YouTube lately? I ask because I noticed that many people who have authentic Hermès Kelly bags also have bought one of these. Do we think it’s cute and fun or tacky and gauche? I’m attaching a picture from Instagram for your reference.

Well, H never made a bag exactly like this. But I would rather have the original clear bag.
Yes I wonder if it’s counterfeit if it wasn’t an original Hermes design (to me it is obviously not Hermes).
Just because it's a different size and color from the original doesn't justify a fake all the way to the same font and wording. It's not trying to pass as authentic but it's also more than "inspired".
Hermes sued the Thursday Friday company in 2011 for making look alike Birkin bags. The bags were pulled from the market.

I tried reporting one of the stores that were selling these on FB and instagram. Somehow they figured out it was me and blocked me from accessing their page (I suspect the owners of some of these shops lurk TPF, but that's just my guess). Glad to see Hermes going after them instead!
Hermes also sued a brazilian brand back in 2011 for making "fleece" birkins. The irony is that the owners of the brand are super rich and they all have a bunch of real b's.

I have seen the "jelly kelly" IRL and it is v cute and well made but I have no use for such an item and I'm not a fan of super obviously "inspired" items or see-through bags.
This is a knockoff rather than counterfeit. As in it doesn’t pretend to be authentic and it doesn’t sell for the price of an authentic bag.
The main problem I have with it is that is plastic. The sort that destroys the planet because it doesn’t biodegrade.
If you find the bags beautiful and they make you happy, it's certainly not illegal to carry a knockoff
