I understand. Maybe it is because the outlet stores are no Balenciaga stores, but sell multibrands products ? Since I bought it in a regular Balenciaga store (that's the point of la Vallée Village), I wasn't bothered with any authenticity issue anyway

Have a nice day
I’m a bit confused, is this store an outlet store or a regular boutique? You had mentioned they sell other brands there as well, correct? So is it similar to a department store where Bal has a kiosk?

Hello, I'll try to explain it better. English isn't my native language so I'm doing the best I can

As I said, Balenciaga outlet boutique is a REGULAR and OFFICIAL Balenciaga boutique. It ONLY sells Balenciaga items.

The Balenciaga outlet boutique is located in an open-air mall called "La Vallée Village", where you can find about 120 luxury and high brand designers outlet boutiques : Balenciaga, Balmain, Celine, Prada, Bottega Veneta, Loewe, Isabel Marant, Ferragamo, MaxMara... The boutiques propose mainly products from previous collections at a very gorgeous price (min. 30% discount), and all year round (whether the time you shop is regulated sales period or not) ! VV is located next to Disneyland Paris :graucho: (tourists often do both in a 2/3 days trip).

"La Vallée Village" isn't the only luxury outlet village in Europe. Another open-air mall dedicated to luxury boutiques is located near to San Remo in Italy. It is called "The Mall Sanremo" : Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Chloé, D&G, Gucci, Versace... They all have their own (outlet) boutique !

All boutiques located in those "outlet village/mall" are regular and official boutiques. In their clients records, shopping at VV/Mall SR is the same as shopping avenue Montaigne

That's why I have no authenticity issue about my bag, and why I was really surprised when you mentionned the "O" letter on the tag. I guess the bags you authentified weren't from a regular Balenciaga outlet boutique (such as the one in VV or San Remo), but from a generic outlet boutique/from a department store (selling different luxury brands in the same boutique).

You maybe have confused the open-air mall called "La Vallée Village" with a department store such as the Galeries Lafayette. It's my fault since I've learned "store" was the translation of "magasin"/"boutique", and I may have used it in a wrong way, causing the misunderstanding.

For the record, I bought my bag with a 40% discount : I get a Balenciaga Giant City S from SS 2019 Collection at 909€ instead of 1550€.

I hope this message makes it clearer

Have a nice day

Thanks for the detailed info. I understand it’s an official Balenciaga store ( here in Vancouver Bal only has small stores within department stores but they’re absolutely authentic, non- outlet boutiques). I’m not disputing the authenticity of your bag, I was merely trying to ascertain if it was marked with the “O” we generally see on outlet bags which have some of the characteristics your bag has, such as retired hardware. I asked because in order to authenticate we need to stay on top of any changes made. I haven’t seen any outlet bags to my knowledge that don’t have the “O” on the top line so to me that’s a significant change. Perhaps @ksuromax has?

You're welcome

I understand you weren't disputing the authenticity of my bag, don't worry. English isn't my native language and I may lack nuances in the text.

I don't know if we can considerate Giant hardware as entirely retired, since Balenciaga launched them again in 2019... This brand is so tricky to authenticate, thank you for doing the hard job !

And lucky you for living in Vancouver, I fell in love with your city 10 years ago and I am still dreaming to visit back someday :hbeat:

Vancouver is located in a gorgeous natural setting, very expensive to live here though!

From what I understand of the giant hardware it’s only available in outlet, it’s not considered part of the main line of product. The last bags I recall seeing with giant hardware in the boutiques was the Mute.
There was chat about G12 hardware a few seasons back. My SA told me, when they phased it out, that they would be making a small amount of it. Obviously it all went to outlet as I’ve not seen it since in the boutiques or in their online store. Too bad really, I think a lot of people liked it.

Then lucky me to scored one in outlet ! The Giant hardware is such a low-key but statement detail !
(hope this sentence makes sense...)

Have a great day
