According to Corey at RDC by S/S 08 all of the bags were agneau. I know there's been some confusion on this but Corey has been a Bal expert for years. I too have had a couple of 08s that have really thick, gorgeous leather, the paper tag indicated on one of them that it was agneau. What a lovely little first!! I love the colour too!! 2008 bags were a mixture of agneau and chèvre as they were switching leathers, so maybe this one is a chèvre since you mentioned the leather being thicker!![]()
Just received my first Balenciaga bag today. It’s a Ghost sling bag in fuchsia. What is the opinion on it here? I mostly see City bags on this forum...

It looks cool and I got it for €450 only, but it’s a pain to keep the flap open to get things in and out - the bag is extremely structured. It doesn’t hold much because of that either. I’m kinda on the fence about keeping it...
I 100% disagree with Corey on this, and (as you know), I've been a major Balenciaga collector since its inception in 2001! The 2008 F/W was Agneau, but the 2008 S/S was still Chevre with some exceptions .. and (again) it pertains to how Balenciaga used to create "batches" of bags (this from my Paris colleague whose sister worked at Balenciaga). According to the 'sister', Balenciaga would have 3 'batches' of bags made .. so, what occurred in 2008 S/S, is that the first 2 'batches' were Chevre, but the last 'batch' was Agneau. So, for instance .. my Vert Thyme and Sky Bleu were GORGEOUS examples of the wonderful Chevre leather, but my Rubisse (F/W) is definitely not as delicious!According to Corey at RDC by S/S 08 all of the bags were agneau.
