Count me in! I LOVE my James Avery 14k yellow gold charm bracelet and wear it every day. Only took it off to take the picture. The quality is outstanding and the service always friendly and prompt.

I've had JA for nearly 40 years, starting with dangle rings, camp jewelry, on through significant gifts for confirmation and graduation, my sorority drop, etc. It's a go-to source for baptismal gifts for Texas baby girls for me.

Bought this ring before gold skyrocketed, and the best thing I can say about it, is that the attention to detail is so great that junctions between the bands are curved, so they don't grab hair if I run my hand through my hair. How's that for detail??

I've been receiving their catalogs for a while now and always admired their charms but never really thought about buying. But then this past Mother's Day I received this beauty from my 15 mo. old daughter. Her daycare was offering a surprise gift that the daddy's can get for the moms. I think I'm hooked now! I have read some bad reviews on yelp and other pages, even the official JA reviews, in addition to my own experiences.

I used to work for Dillard's where I actually sold it and thought the quality was still good, didn't have customers come back because it broke, but now I'm reading that people are and the prices have been going up for quite a while and it's making me wonder if it's worth it anymore.

Also hearing that Dillard's OWNS JA which is news to me and hopefully just a rumor, but I used to be a pretty big fan, and now I'm confused about where I stand and if the pieces I had my eye on are best forgotten.

What do you all think?

According to the James Avery web site the company is still "family owned." James Avery remains active in the company and his sons run it. Dillard's carries JA jewelry so obviously they have a merchandising agreement.

I haven't noticed any decline in quality, although I buy maybe only one piece a year from them. I have noticed on the web site some of the customer reviews claim quality has slipped.

That's good to know. I had a big feeling the Dillard's-owned thing was just rumor. Sometimes I do wonder if people have things snap are just really rough on their stuff and then want to come back and get mad that it did that.. at the end of the day it's still jewelry, but I've always known JA to be quite sturdy, especially when it comes to their sterling.

I own quite a few pieces of JA. I haven’t noticed a decline in quality or customer service, but since the name change I have seen a very substantial rise in costs and seems to be following a “trendier” look. JMO.
