Has anyone had problems with their Chanel J12 automatic watch? I ordered one before the price increase from an authorized dealer and it arrived broken--the watch wouldn't start after wind up. I can't find any problems noted on the internet so I thought I would ask here. Thanks!!!

Has anyone had problems with their automatic j12? I ordered one from an authorized dealer and it came broken--wont start up with winding. I am sending it back but am worried the the watch isn't as durable as my rolex watches. Thanks!!!

I've owned half a dozen J12s and have never had issues with any of them.

I got an automatic J12 last week from NM. They wound it, set the time, gave it to me, and I sat around chatting for another 15 minutes or so. I looked down at the watch and noticed that the time hadn't moved at all. I show it to the NM jewelers, they took it off, took it in the back, then came back with another one, saying that the first one was broken. They didn't know why. The second one they gave me hasn't had any problems.

I have 2 automatics and they have always been great. If mine showed up broken my sa would have had me return it right away to the Chanel boutique. Did you just get it. For the price of a J12 it should be perfect.

^^I had the same problem with my J12 that I got from NM. It would just stop working despite me wearing it and winding it each morning! I told the SA that I think it was defective but he kept telling me to give it a couple of days. For some reason, he refused to find me another watch, which was annoying. I ended up returning it and getting another one from a Chanel boutique. Haven't had any problems with the second one.

Hi G! Congratulations on your fun new watch! I hope you and the others were reminded that a watch winder is really the key to a self-winding watch. When you are not wearing it daily, it is imperative that that baby not just sit around and look pretty! Also, this is very important for your Rolex (Roli plural?) and other self winding -- NOT MECHANICAL winding watches. They need to keep running.

As you were.
